Nursing Mamas TTC in December - Page 2

League Mama. . .
I did everything differently! I used OPK's for the first time (unfortunely I o'd when DH was in Boston I live in MN, but we DTD 2days before he went and the next day after o) Hoping that was enough coverage though I'm not so sure! Also I've been taking 1200mg of vitex along with prenatel vitamins, b-complex, folic acid, flax seed oil, cutting out caffine (or a least cutting it in half ) eating meat (I'm a veggi) Practicing longer seperations with my 18mo old, cutting back on nursing, spending less time cleaning, cooking, and working "hard" e.i. just making sure I have A LOT of time to my self, having sex in the missionary postion, trying to have an orgasim after DH does, trying to have an orgasim b4 DH does, proping up my legs and hips for 15 mins after sex, not using lube of any kind, making sure I drink at least 5 teabags of RRL tea, drinking a lot of water, making sure I eat a lot of raw foods, hmm and taking more naps with my son! I believe there is a few more things I did but I can't think of them at the moment.

Hi mamas. Wow... December already. This is our twelfth month of ttc :

I am 8dpo, and taking vitex, using NPC, and 100mg B complex... I'm going to test on Wednesday if AF hasn't shown. My LP has been 9-10 days (usually spot arrives at 10dpo) so if no AF on Wednesday, I'll be officially late. Had a dip yesterday and temp is back up today. I'm just getting over being sick, some nasty viral cold/flu-like thing that is taking forever to go away, and then last night when I went to bed I was feeling sinusy again : Will this ever end? I am not usually prone to illness like this, but I've been ill twice in 3 months ::

I've just been able to start back up on my raw milk again last week after 3 months in Canada, so I hope that will help my immune system quickly. I'm seriously contemplating taking a 3-6 month break if no this cycle to get my body in the best shape possible... but DS is already 20mths old and I don't want such a huge age gap... I guess I should have figured out by now that it's not in my hands

How is everyone doing with the holidays approaching??

Hi everyone. Just popping in to say hello. I pretty much lurked last month. Just trying to take it easy after my m/c in Oct. I'm on CD35, but have not been temping since a week or so after the m/c. I've just been keeping track of CF and BD'ing. If AF doesn't arrive this coming weekend, I'll probably test then, so I guess I can be moved to 2 ww, even though I'm not sure if/when I might have O'd.

Ds is still nursing lots at night and frequently throughout the day. I **might** consider nightweaning after the holidays if we're still not having any luck.

Good Luck ladies

Laura

Sounds like a good sign to me! I always have AF like cramping a week or so before AF is due when I am pg.

Don't do it!! Just wait a couple more days so when you do test you get that BFP.

Also pressure in the abdomen? Wondering if I should call my doc.
I'm sorry about your loss, unfortunately I don't really have any advice. My first O after a m/c is always kind of funny. Maybe you're just O'ing? Couldn't hurt to call the doc.

, that 12 month mark is hard. I always wanted my kids to be closely spaced, but obviously that wasn't the plan! I'm so not ready for the holidays!I haven't even thought about gifts let alone gone shopping...

This has been sitting here for HOURS! Better post it now before I get distracted again.

Thanks!
This is exactly what Oing feels like for me. I do not have irregular cysts (just the normal one that develops after an egg is released) as of my last gyn appt.

I think I found a new place to hang out.

I'm Christine. I'm currently waiting to catch the first PP egg. I have a 28-month old and a 6.5-month old, whom I'm nursing. He STTN and is on solids, and gets 2-3 oz/day of donated bm, so I'm a far cry from EBF. I've been taking Vitex for about 6 weeks and I just started 100 mg B6 today. Anything else I should be doing? After my first was born, I was nearly weaned and had been on Vitex for a month when I finally O'd at 11 months pp. And then my LP was short for 4 months. Then I got that first fertile egg, which turned into DS. That is where I am. I have had like 2 mucus patches in the last 6 months, and they were both 2-3 months ago. I really don't feel like my body is trying to do anything soon. Sigh...

And BIG SHOUT to Hanny. I'm so glad to run into you. Very cool. By the way, Megan had her baby last week. A boy - 9 lbs 13 oz. It was a RCS after trying everything to get him out the other way. I was her doula. She got all the way to pushing and the MW could see his hair, but he just wouldn't squeeze under the pubic bone. Discovered in surgery he'd turned posterior while she was pushing. Little bugger. Anyway, she is really happy with the experience. She got soooo much further than she did with her first, and really...she got everything involved in a vag birth except the ring of fire.

Really? I never had it before with my other pgs. It was like nothing I've ever felt before. I just had a couple twinges today...nothing like yesterday.

I didn't know this thread existed, I just posted in the TTC thread...
We are BF'ing, but DD just started solids a couple of weeks ago and we are TTC#2...AF hasn't returned yet, but we are still hopeful since it took absolutely no trying to conceive the first 2 times (had a m/c on the 1st). Any advice on what ahs worked for others?

That's me too. We didn't use post partum birth control, and I'm at the ripe old age of 24, so I thought they'd be about 18 months apart. Nope! My DD is 14 months now. I just got my 3rd PPAF and my cycle this time was 33 days, so it's back to normal. Before it was 49 and 578 () and normally I'm 30-35 days. No Vitex or anything, just folic acid. I'm not in a huge rush, but I'd love to be pregnant. The 'kids' would be almost exactly 2 years apart if I conceived this cycle. What fun!

I'm kind of lame at judging fertility, I just go by CM. I did show fertile and BD (baby dance) in the middle of my cycle, so I don't know. It wasn't super obvious EWCM, but I never got that with my DD either.

Does anyone do the paid fertility friend? They're giving me a free trial right now, which is kind of fun. I use it just so I can remember my cycle days and possible O days, maybe a pen and paper would be more effective lol

I don't have any advice, but my 1st PPAF came exactly 2 weeks after my DD took her first bite of solids so maybe that will be the case for you! I took vitex for my DD, but I'm not taking it for #2 unless my baby turns 2 and I still haven't conceived yet.

I am here, waiting to O. I think. In some ways we are sort of 'taking a break' since I'm not really making a huge effort - no suppliments, no temping, no marathon bd'ing . I did order some preseed this month so we'll try that a bit. This is cycle # 10 and it is just hard to make a huge effort every month and have it result in nothing - no bfp, not even any increased CM (which is my fertility issue since PPAF returned 2.5 years ago). DS is still nursing through the night and I don't have the energy or desire to night wean him. We tried a year ago and it worked for a while and then it just slowly started creeping back in. : What are you gonna do, right?

Anyway, that's me. A BFP in time for xmas would be ultra cool, though. We'll see.

Brooke - . . . I'm not looking forward to my 12th cycle. You seem to manage to stay focused and positive, though . . . truly an inspiration to me! Take care, mama . . . I'm thinking of you and hoping you see your bfp this time around!

Has anyone used sperm friendly lube before? I'm thinking of ordering some, I've heard that regular stuff has spermacide in it? Or is that just an old wive's tale?

Pre-Seed is the only lubricant on the market that has proven to counteract the hostile mucus problem AND is not harmful to sperm.
(http://www.babyhopes.com/articles/ho...l-mucus.html):

I have never used it, but I know many others on here do. Good luck!
This is where I usually get my pgy tests from, is this a good deal on the pre-seed too? Do you only use it around O? I wish it wasn't only in packets.

We use Astroglide - dh calls it the purple stuff
I am pretty sure it is spermicide free. It says nothing about spermicide on the packaging or on their website. But looking at the link below I wonder now. We have gotten pregnant using it before though.

It is not just an issue of spermicide being present in the lubricant. I think there are other factors including changing the vaginal pH, etc.
Here is some information I found doing a quick search on lubricants.

http://www.storknet.com/cubbies/infe...lubricants.htm
Quote:
However, three decades of peer reviewed, published research has shown that all existing vaginal lubricants studied to date harm sperm, resulting in rapid losses in their viability (% live) and motility (% swimming). Specifically, there have been at least 11 studies on this topic conducted in Medical school settings, reviewing the effect of 16 different lubricants on sperm, including all of the top selling brands, such as KY, Astroglide and Replens. In each study, sperm motility and viability were dramatically reduced after exposure to even small concentrations (<10%) of these products.

Most over the counter lubricants are not "sperm friendly" -- meaning that using them is likely to kill off some sperm. In most cases, one needs to weigh the benefits against the risks . . . it may well be worth losing a few sperm to make it possible to complete intercourse. That said, there are some friendlier options out there. One is FemGlide, a lubricant you can get from your doctor. You can buy the same product marketed as Slippery Stuff (apparently more available at stores that sell sexual aids than at pharmacies and such). There is also a more recently introduced product called Pre-Seed from Bio-Origyn. Another option discussed on many fertility boards is using raw egg whites at room temperature.

No, I have read that people on this board get it at their local pharmacy.
