Midwifery Support Group in Iowa!!

Hi,
I just wanted to let people know that Iowa has a relatively new consumer advocacy group that will be working towards the licensing of CPMs in our state. It's Friends of Iowa Midwives and we are looking for both folks to join our group and also anyone interested in receiving action alert type emails for things to do to support this kind of legislation. And if you're feeling ambitious and dedicated, we're looking for district coordinators/area coordinators so we can work across the state! There's something for everyone here!

We are based in CR/IC but are looking for supporters from every nook and cranny in the state and I figure there are lots of homebirth advocates here on MDC! You can PM me for more info, or check out the website, too. We have a yahoo group also.

Another bonus of FOIM is that you can get in touch with fellow Iowans who have had homebirths or who support it. It's a great community that we'd love to see grow!

It's so good to see you! I was thinking just the other day that your edd was coming up and wondering how you were and how things were going. I hope you're doing great. You are missed down here!
