I LOVE my teenager!!

Okay so my niece who has been living with me for almost two months, is so awsome! Maybe its just her, but now i cannot wait for my daughters to be teenagers! Let me explain-
I have been through a rough time these last 6 months the most recent battle, seperating from my husband, and i just found out he's moving 6 states away. So i had to go out and meet with him and our lawyers tonight, to get everything squared away. It was all very civil and i'm glad we can handle this like adults but it was still really depressing and I was quite upset as i was driving home. I wasnt looking forward to have to deal with five tired kids and two teenagers who possibly have hours more of homework to do, and a messy house that i would have to clean, and it was going on 9:30. BUT as i walked into the house, the kitchen was spotless! i walked slowly into the living room, where i was sure it was going to be a wreck but NO it was spotless too!!! Oh i was so happy then i went into the playroom and my sweet Niece was reading the older two girls a story and smiled up at me.
"The babies are in bed." Oh i could kiss that girl all day long!
Then a little while ago she came in my room and sunggled with me, and we have such a good talk about life, and current events with us and the world. it was just one of those talks that you smile thinking about!

Oh how i LOVE my teenager!!
p.s- no that i think about it i really do think its just her and i still dread the day my five daughters are all teenagers.:

My teenager is a hormonal mess of a video game playing mall rat emo kid, and yet he's simultaneously absolutely delicious! What your neice did was typical teenage behaviour and they always seem to do things like that when you least expect it.

I love my adult dd too, but I kind of miss having two teenagers and am especially looking forward to coming into the home stretch with ds; if he's anything at all like his sister, he's going to grow as much (in his heart, mind, and soul) during his final two years of childhood as my littlest will in his/her first two years.

Five teenaged girls is going to be exciting, exasperating, exhausting and ecstatic! I envy you on many levels; it will be quite an experience.

My kid is only 11, but i'm very much looking forward to his teen years...he just keeps getting better and better, and i think he'll be even more wonderful than he already is. I'm especially looking forward to him being able to drive, so i can send him to the store for pop when i need it.

What a sweetheart! Isn't it so nice when they do something that isn't expected?
I love my 17 yo dd too. She just raked my BIG pile of leaves this weekend! And she's always on hand to help me cook and clean the kitchen after. On Saturdays, we clean house together. Imagine this.....she LOVES to mop!:

She sounds lovely! Every once in a while my 15 year old son will surprise me by doing something like that!

That is fabulous! It's so nice to hear a happy teen story!

Recently, my dss cleaned up the basement without being asked, and it was a beautiful thing.
