foamy bm poo?

I was just changing dd and she was pooping during the change...it looked like orange foam hand soap. Her butts been a bit red, but it was clearing up until yesterday. Is it something I'm eating...any ideas?

i would call the MW...just to get a quicker good answer. or google orange foamy newborn poops...?


***i just googled like crazy cakes and didn't find a thing re.l orange poops...are you sure it isn't a greenish/yellow or more yellowy orange color? yellow/yellowy orange is great...that is what you want... maybe the 'foam' is seed like stuff or cottage cheese like curdle stuff??? that is healthy too. but i would still talk to your MW or a pedi for more accurate diagnosis.

My last baby had this - it's normal. Foamy, that sounds just like gasbubbles which are perfectly normal and an orange color is good too.
If there are little white pieces in the stool that's just undigested protein from your milk, also very normal.

From the sounds of it, your babe's poop is normal. The frothiness would really only be a concern if the poop was more green b/c then it would indicate a possible foremilk/ hindmilk imbalance beginning. BUT, since it's orange-y, all is well.

nak. sounds normal...prob. something you ate. we had this last week. we had the reezers, the baby had foamy poo.
