Okay...it's official the worrying never stops even after they are born. Jacob is 6 weeks and is very alert. We noticed that he seems to look to the left and right and very rarely looks straight ahead or focuses on us and if he does he doesn't hold eye contact for very long. He did follow me with his eyes a few times yesterday and today but not usually. Any thoughts? I just don't remember if Adam or Hannah did this too??

My daughter does the same thing. I brought her in to work and one of my colleagues was impressed that she was "tracking" so I am guessing that it's fine.
It's weird how much we worry, isn't it?

My guy had been doing that most often and I attributed it to being overstimulated --two noisy sisters will do that! Now that he has started social smiling and just got adjusted, he is making better eye contact. He is much more of a 'watcher' than I remember his sisters being. He's ~5wks now.

Like Erika... mine only looked one direction (to the left). Cranial sacral therapy fixed it. Sometimes they get a little twisted on their way out.
But... it also think they start really maintaining eye contact around 8 weeks or so. Could just be where he is right now!

My ds does this. He's getting better at maintaining eye contact, especially if I'm further away. He was looking over my shoulder & smiling so much that I kept turning around, thinking someone was there. It kind of freaked me out
