I got more done this weekend...
I just tidied up the area where I have my bins of photoes, mementoes, and picture frames. It's a looooooong term project, but I'm sorting all photos by year (weeding out all the crappy photos and throwing away negatives and envelopes). Then when that is done I will do one year at a time, sorting chronologically, writing on the backs, and getting them in archival binders. Whew.
Anyway, today I went through about 15 photo envelopes, tidied the bins up, and realized I am further along in this project than I thought I was.
I also tidied the laundry room, moving the garment rack out of the main space and into a better out-of-the-way space. Cleaned off the counters and vacuumed behind the washer/dryer. Cleaned out the closet there and moved some bins from our office into the closet (bins for sorting stuff to donate, along with seasonal stuff like pool toys and floats), and emptied two more bins.
This week I gave two reptile lights away on freecycle, posted free-for-shipping stuff on the Trading Post, e-mailed some friends who might want the freebie stuff, and resolved to donate it SOON if it doesn't get asked for. This will empty two more tubs. I also gave two small trash bags full of clothes to a friend. If anyone here is looking for well-loved nursing clothes FFS, please PM me.
I assessed my pantry (for a pantry challenge) and pulled the things I know my family will not eat or I will not likely use. Gave that food to a friend who is also doing a pantry challenge and appreciated the additional variety.
I took a whole ton of boxes to be recycled. Got them out of my garage. Yay.
I am gearing up for January to be mending/sewing month. This will empty at least two more bins and possibly three, and require me to actually organize my sewing stuff. Also for December my next goal is to go through my "in box" which is actually two drawers and a basket in my office and kitchen. It's out of control and needs attention. This will get my desk cleaned off.
Now that the worst of my clutter is gone, what's left is really fun!
