HONESTLY, how much weight have you gained? - Page 2

Uh oh, I thought I was doing so good, having gained only 3-5 pounds so far at 14 weeks! I'm trying to keep it lower this time because 40 lbs last time proved to be way to much for me since I get MAJOR back pain during pg. Last time at this point I had gained 12. I didn't know some woman didn't start gaining till they were 20 weeks!?!

Kltry, I could have posted this EXACTLY, all our stats are the same, except with my 1st pg I started at 140, this time I'm happy to start at 130 and I'm hoping to
gain more like 30-35, not 45!

I'm 11 weeks, and I haven't gained any weight at all yet. Well, I have, but I lost a bit first, so I'm right back at pre-pg weight.
I'm 11w today and I've lost 2 pounds. I don't gain for a while every pg though, but don't worry, I catch it all back up!

I am down 7 lbs at 12 weeks. I'm not happy about it, I've been stuffing my face pretty much non stop since I found out (I don't have a scale so I have to weight for drs appts).

With my first pregancy I gained about 10 a trimester. Which was right in the healthy range for my starting weight, and obviously my diet worked because I had a 9+ lber. I figured I'd go with the same plan, ie eat the same foods and get the same activity. But...I guess with nursing achasing around a toddler I need even more. I feel terrible, like I've been starving my baby : Everyone keeps telling me it's normal but it doesn't feel normal to me.

At 13 weeks I'm up about 2-3 lbs, which was similar to my first pregnancy. That time I didn't gain until 1/2 way through the 2nd trimester. I'm sure now that the 1st trimester is behind me, I be able to eat more and put on the pounds!

I'm at 10 wks now, and I have no idea how much weight I've gained (mostly because I stay away from the scale at any given time...result of being an anoxeric-bulemic dancer for years). I think I was 120 lbs (size 3 on the bottom) before getting preggers. I just went clothing shopping yesterday for size 5 pants which float somewhat but will be good for belly expansion. I too am starting to have the "no waist" symdrome, so I feel totally gross, and I'm trying REALLY hard not to fall back into my old starvation habits. :

I'll be 14 weeks tomorrow and I'm up 8 lbs! I gained 10 lbs. in my 1st trimester with my 2nd and 1st, but I started 5 lbs. lighter with my 1st and 10 lbs. lighter with my 2nd! I'm hoping to hold here for a few weeks with some really healthy eating and exercise. I'm starting a prenatal swim class on Wednesday. I already teach about 4/5 yoga classes a week - which I thought would make a ton of difference - but I put on weight very easily when I'm pregnant. My first pregnancy I gained about 45 (at 37 weeks!), my second it was 40 (at 42 weeks) and I was really hoping to keep this one at 25 or 30, especially since I started heavier. I'm also feeling especially yucky this week though - I thought I would look more "pregnant" by Christmas, but I just look chunky right now. I thought I remembered looking pretty pregnant by now in my second pregnancy - no such luck yet, even though none of my clothes fit!

I don't know exactly how much weight I have gained, but I am enjoying the fact that I can still fit into my size four jeans(the low cut ones!!). I am 12 1/2 weeks, and this time last pregnancy, I was already in maternity pants. I have more of a bump this time, but my booty is not as large(yet) as it was 12 weeks with my son! I gained 70 lbs last time!!!!! It took me about two years to get back to pre-pregnancy size. I definitely don't want to do that again!!!!! Ummmm, I chalk it up to two dinners a night followed by Ben and Jerry's!!!! I have a prenatal this week though, so I will know the numbers then! Funnily enough, thinking back to my last preg, my mw never gave me any grief about my weight gain. She said my body was doing what it needed to do.....I never fessed about my ice cream addiction to her though! My son was 8lb 11oz.

Bah! As my mom keeps reminding me, you HAVE to have some chocolate every day while you're pregnant, or else your baby won't like chocolate! Works for me

I'm 11 weeks and I've gained 4 thanks to all my effort

As soon as I found out I was pregnant I started eating like crazy, because I figured this would be like my last pregnancy and I'd need to eat while I still can. By this time last pregnancy I had already lost about 10lbs, and I actually ended up 20lbs lighter when it was all over. I've been pretty proactive with the sickness this time, making myself eat every hour despite my lack of appetite. I'm pretty impressed with my 4lb gain, especially with my crazy nursing toddler constantly sucking all the engergy out of me literally

Hey mama. I struggled with eating disorders up until my first pregnancy. I was a size 2 when I got pregnant and had a LOT Of issues with gaining weight. Eventually I just let it go but I understand emotionally how it is difficult to make sure you are eating enough and eating right for the baby. I never gained back my little body but I know now that being healthy is crucial and looking skinny isn't. I know you will do great. I bet you look gorgeous.

So maybe I should slow down with weight gain. Oops.

Awww thanks Cardinal. Means a lot to read that someone else struggled with the same neurotic and distorted body image issues I had. Ballet really messed with my head and it's taken years to get over the obsession. I freaked out for a long time whenever I'd go over 105 pounds (don't know why that particular number), which is why I threw out all my scales and cancelled my subscription to those fashion magazines. I was totally out of control...I think if I have a girl, there will be no ballet or gymnastic classes!

Hi all. This was a good thread to find, b/c I've actually been feeling down about this lately. I've skimped on my running for the past two weeks, and I know i've grown around the middle since then. All of a sudden the waistbands on my running shorts (which I wore this weekend) hurt, they're so tight. And I've got this strange, new bulge hanging over my pants near the back of my hips. What is that, back fat?!?!?! I really love the new shape my belly is taking, but why does everything else around it have to go soft and mushy? Why??? :

When I hop on the scale, it says I've gained about 3 pounds (I'm 13 weeks right now), but I swear, it feels like so much more...
My body takes extra fat from the rest of my body and moves it to my midsection, I swear I am only up about 3lb but all my rings are loose and my face is thiner. That happened with last pregnancy too. People kept telling me I had lost weight....
