I just ordered a Shepherd's Purse tincture for my upcoming UC, because I did have some pph for my first son (I suspect it had more to do with my overly managed pushing and 3rd stage of labor), but anyway...
I am a little confused with the dosages that one would use in the event of an actual hemmhorage. They give dosage on the bottle, but I'm not sure if this is exclusively for PPH.
Any midwives out there who use shepherd's purse, how much do you give? Also, would you try something else first? Obviously I will try to nurse right away, nipple stim, and keep baby close. We will not clamp cord until after the placenta is delivered, but I'm really just curious of the dosage for shepherd's purse? Also, I will eat/hold in the side of cheek some placenta immed. afterward, but how long do the effects of this usually take?
