Not sure how to phrase this question

Not sure if this would be better posted elsewhere but traffic is good here.

Ok, DD is 6 months old now. DH and I have decided that we don't want our DC spaced to far apart. I am exclusively breastfeeding and we have chosen to forgo condoms and let nature take its course.
I was just wondering if any other mamas have done this and about how long was it before AF came back or you got pregnant???
Even if we got preg tomorrow (unlikely, LOL) the next babe wouldn't be here until DD1 is around a year and a half.
Any comments or advice is welcome.

I'd post in the Fertility Forum - there are lots of Mamas who are bfing and charting so as to be ready to ttc as soon as they ovulate!

Good luck!

You know, I'd make sure your dd was eating at least some solids and that you are comfortable with giving formula, just in case your milk supply plummets if you do indeed become pregnant soon. This happened to a friend of mine--she didn't know her supply could change so drastically, so quickly and she became pregnant with her second child when her first was only 8 mo. Of course it doesn't happen to everyone, and plenty of women nurse throughout pregnancy and beyond, but many do see a noticeable reduction in supply. Just fwiw.

I'll cross post in fertility

We did this, and mine is 14 months and I'm not pregnant yet. I'm 24, so it's not old eggs either : Breastfeeding just slowed down my cycles. I'd be surprised if I don't get pg this winter, though.

We did this, and our DDs are 16 months apart. DD1 never even had a bottle, and AF came back at 5 1/2 months for me. Oh, and no problems breastfeeding during pregnancy, despite my midwives best efforts to get me to stop. I think I may have just been lucky with that though. Good luck!
