Domperidone question

Well, it appears that I'm having inadequate supply again now, and I want to start taking the Domperidone I bought a few weeks ago. The thing is, when I bought it, I stupidly didn't consider that I might be having to take more than 1 pill at a time, so I only bought 100 tablets. That's only enough for 11 days if I'm taking 9 tablets daily. I really don't need to spend the money on more at this time. Is this drug effective at all at a lower dose (say, 4-5 tablets daily)?

You sound frustrated with your supply isssues I hope it works out soon.

From what I can tell, very little is known about the response of women to different dosages of domperidone.

In one study (randomised controlled trial) the women who took 10 mg (one pill) three times a day produced more milk than the placebo group, and their prolactin levels were higher. Now, this trial was on only 16 women, and they were pumping for their babies who were born prematurely, and only took the domperidone for one week.

The study is: da Silva OP, Knoppert DC, Angelini MM, Forret PA. Effect of domperidone on milk production on mothers of premature newborns: a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial. CMAJ. 2001;164(1):17-21
and I think it is available free on line if you google it.

Best of luck whatever you decide to do.

I know that when I got my Reglan prescription the doctor had me taking 30 mg. per day. I think you should try 30-50 and see what happens. Also eat oatmeal (steel cut), almonds (unsalted), and drink lots of water. I've also seen my supply go up a bit when I eat coconut (fresh) and papaya (also fresh).
