I am so Lost!

Hello there,

I just joined this group today and man am I lost! There is so much information that I am anxious to read up on, but I have no idea how to customize it and get started. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I am so glad I stumbled across this!

This is a HUGE forum. But once you get the hang of it, all the smaller ones seem really boring.

I'd start out just wandering around the forums that you have a particular interest in. Are you pregnant? Do you homeschool? Are you a breastfeeding activist? A single mama?

Just lurk for a while, get the hang of how people talk (fast, usually!! ) and stuff. Post a reply or two or twelve when you feel compelled. You'll get there.

Could someone also explain how to get the cute smilies in my siggy? Every time I try it tells me I can only have one...

If you want more smilies, you have to pay MDC a little fee I think. But you get a pink name too!

Start out with one or two forums ... work your way up to more... I've been here a year and only recently am making my way through most of them!

yeo you can get more with more posts. it used to be 5 smileies with 100 posts and 3 months from the join date. i think that's changed but thats what it was when i signed up.

you'll figure it out.

I too am soooo lost. Admittedly a techno idiot and low on the patience scale!! I am new here too. I am the mother of a 14 month old girl, we are homebirthing, breastfeeding, co-sleeping, types. I am mostly home with my wee one but practice 2 days a week as a Holisitic Peditirician, where I share a practice with my husband a chiropractor. I heard about this site from many of my friends and decided it was too big for me to manage, but I am giving it a try...look forward to getting to know all about MDC
