I think I'm in trouble now... UPDATE 18, 61 **82** - Page 3

I live in a totally different country from you and I'm sure nothing like this would happen here... I can't beleive people can be that useless that they would force the Mother to go to court unrepresented. Makes me so MAD! I'm so sorry. . All I can say is like a PP said, record EVERYTHING. I have records and proof (as much as possible) on DDs father, just incase I ever need it. It's very true, if you don't have a record, it didn't happen. So printout the emails and keep them etc etc. Keep copies of your requests, things like that. I'll be thinking of you xx

Yes, this too, but I was talking about the court record. If you get an unfavorable opinion, you will want to appeal. If you do not introduce the emails before the trial court, you will not be permitted to introduce them on appeal. Only facts that are put in the record and other documents submitted to the court, such as your motion for a continuance, can be considered by the appeals court. A court of appeals cannot consider facts that were not introduced to the trial court. Make sure you object on the record to proceeding without counsel at every chance you get. I don't know what kind of exceptions are made for pro se parties, so just make sure the appeals court is going to know that you did not CHOOSE to represent yourself.

Wish ya lived in Fla...I'd be on westlaw finding case law to support that the DCA would overrule this judge. I'm so sorry!

Wait...when did her DD die? There is a federal allowance for time off for the death of family, particularly immediate family

Well, it's not that she's not getting time off... It's that they aren't giving ME the time off with her. She can go on leave, but I have to go ahead with my case.

What is westlaw?

when my attorney goes out of town, there is a notice of unavailability filed. Maybe you can check to see if your state has that.

West Law is a research tool attorneys use to help find case law. It costs a boat load, but I have access through my work. I'm a geek so I really enjoy it

IN all seriousness, I hope everything goes very well today. Remember even decisions made today CAN be reversed by your district court of appeals. I'll be sending every good positive karmic thought I can that the judge gets the issues and goes easy on you if you must go pro se
