how do i use this 'thing'?

i xposted this in babywearing but not sure how active it is in there so i figured i'd try you guys too... god, where would i BE w/out all of you? i love you all so much.

i'm sure my friend will show me soon enough how to work this thing but in the meantime i'm trying to figure out how to use this wrap or sling she made me...: (she hasn't replied yet...and i'm curious as to what you all think this is...and if there are any online instructions on such a thing...) sorry i think its called a mai tai but it doesn't look like the mai tai's i'm seeing online (ie. babyhawk-style).

this is like one verrrrrrrrrry long piece of fabric w/ various fabric layers/folds in one long very thin rectangle, say, and at each end are 2 rings........what is this thing? how in the heck do i use it? i want to use it so bad! but it looks complicated. seems slinglish but more wrappish. lol sorry if i'm confusing you all. i'm boggled myself.

Not in your DDC, but, it sounds like a wrap.

thank you!!! that does look very similar to what i have. i tried it and then got lost when it was time to tie it at the end as mine has the rings on both ends...i'll have my friend show me tomorrow when i see her. thank you for enlightening me on what this is...i appreciate it!!!
