How you told your other half...

I acutally told my husband and my kids at the same time. I had tested a maybe postive the day before, which my husband didn't want to put any hope into.

The next morning I snuck into the bathroom and POAS. There weren't two lines right away and I thought it was a huge BFN. Then I went back in about five minutes later and there were two lines.

I walked into the livingroom, stick in hand and said to my three daughters and husband that we are having a baby!

It was great.

I woke up at 4am anxious to POAS. I got very faint lines on 2 cheap internet tests and then a pretty dark one on a drugstore brand one. I called to DH from the bathroom telling him the I needed his help. He was very sleepy and confused, but he came in and I asked him if he saw lines. He said yes he definitely saw lines and I made him repeat it and when he asked in a frustrated tone why he needed to see them too I said "Because if you see them and I see them that mean they are real. Congratulations, you're gonna be a daddy!" He was so thrilled he began hugging me and cheering. We got back in the bed and cuddled and talked for awhile. Then since I was WAY to excited to sleep I posted about my BFP here on MDC.

Pyrodjm - That's so sweet

My DH was trying to get me to "hold off" on poas and use FMU but I was way too impatient for that and since we'd gone through this last month he didn't want me to be disappointed.

But I went upstairs and did the test anyway, brought it down, he and my stepson asked what it was and I was feeling very dejected and said that it was negative and laid the stick down on the coffee table.

DH said something about just waiting and retesting in the morning before I give up hope and just because I'm a freak and have to obsess, I looked at the test again a couple minutes later and jumped up cuz I could swear I saw another line. I went and got the flashlight and was squealing and DH came to look at it and he said he saw it too.

Well since he saw it too and it wasn't just my crazy, I was happy I still didn't "trust" it and DH went out and got me more tests and I tested again the next morning...same thing, BFP!! DH looked at it and said yep that one's darker, you can see it at least with the "naked eye"

Of course over the next couple days I had to take more tests because the tests were all just too faint for my taste. I got to an equate test (the ones that give a + sign if you're pregnant) and that showed up right away.

This was all over the weekend and AF wasn't even due until Wednesday It wasn't even 100% real to me until that Thursday when I was officially "late"

I think with ds #1 I just showed him the stick.
This time, I woke up at 4am to test (and then, of course, couldn't fall back asleep), but we were leaving for Thanksgiving and had so much to do I almost forgot. And I didn't want to tell him while he was driving to the airport! So the first quiet moment we had was in the security line! He was joking with ds, saying, "you're the head of the family!" and I said "only until July!" It took him a minute to get it... he didn't know I had tested that morning. But then he kind of melted in the line, and started kissing me and ds, and saying "I can't believe you told me in the airport security line!"
