my PP appetite for the most part, sucks. or maybe its just that i don't have the energy to prepare meals...so i mostly am snacking constantly...cheese and crackers, yogurt, cottage cheese and apple sauce, cheese sandwiches nuked instead of grilled cuz i'm too lazy to w/ tomato soup...too much dairy i'm sure...but i just don't want much else. oh and holiday cookies...yum. wish i had someone here to cook me meals. i know i need to be eating more and get more nutritious foods into me and more calories while bfing but i just don't feel like even making soup half the time...i am probably depriving meghan too of good meals. i feel awful. are any of you struggling w/ eating??? i think that the problem is having to make it myself. just don't want to. too tired. too much going on.

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

I think that's why we tend to keep some extra weight in the beginning - Mother Nature knows we don't have enough time to make nutritious meals, so we get an extra layer of insulation to take from!
For me, I'm starving all the time, but it seems that anytime I have food in front of me, James needs to nurse/be held/have a diaper change. I've learned snacking is just easier to deal with.
Keep up on your water intake and try your best!

I hear ya! My diet would be pretty horrendous right now if it weren't for all the meals I'd frozen before Caleb arrived. That is my saving grace! Otherwise, I would be serving Dh who knows what! That's the main reason I froze so much...cause I know he'd complain if I fed him cheese and crackers night after night! Me? I could eat cereal or pancakes and eggs for every meal!
If you're feeling bad about the way you're eating, what about something like Let's Dish? www.LetsDish.com Not sure if there's anything lilke that near you or not. There's another place called Supper Thyme, maybe they have that out there... Then at least you'd have less guilt about what Megh eats!
I did it once (splitting it with my SIL since it's a lot of $ up front) and you get way more meals out of it than you think since each meal serves 6 pp. We actually got 2-3 dinners out of each meal we chose.

i know i am not eating enough, but i can't seem to get enough food in. i had this problem in pregnancy too and it's even worse now. i am much hungrier than i've ever been in my life, but somehow that doesn't translate into eating enough.
on top of that i have the same problems as everyone else: not enough time to prepare healthy daytime meals (luckily my freezer meals are still going strong for dinners), a beeb who wants to feed as soon as i put food in front of me, etc. but mostly i just forget to eat.

Laura... I LOVE Let's Dish! I had a sandwich yesterday I discovered from my last trip there in August.
I'm grazing mostly... partially cuz I don't have time to feed myself, and partially cuz I have no appetite... lots of adrenaline post-partum, still adjusting to being a mom... it'll pass I'm sure. Don't worry, just eat what you can!

It sure makes it easy! I only wish it was organic. We eat mostly organic, so that part of Let's Dish was hard for me...but the food is tasty, easy to prepare and I LOVE that you make so many meals in two hours! I've only "dished" once though I'll probably do it again!

Ugh, me too. I'm trying to keep my strength and milk supply up, but I'm not in the mood for food - and especially not for prepping it. Thankfully my mom has come over a couple times and made a bunch of healthy meals with lots of leftovers. I have a bunch of freezer meals made up, but I don't even feel like defrosting and assembling.

Me too. Too busy to eat, and even though I'm hungry nothing appeals to me. I've been relying on a protein shake in the middle of the night (I make it ahead in a shaker and toss it in the fridge, then just grab and chug during one of our night feedings) to get me through hunger-wise and get me 20 extra grams of protein.
