Midwife wants to see me tomorrow. - Page 2

The FFN isn't a great test. I've seen it be wrong both ways.

I hope you're feeling better!

I'm on bedrest, strict bedrest, for a week. I had a bunch of contractions 5-7 min apart while in her office, and was a fingertip dilated, really really soft, REALLY anterior. Cervix was still 3cm long, but she sent me to the doc. He did an u/s and said he wants to do another in a week to see if there is any change. He wanted me on terbutaline, but that made me crazy after one dose, so midwife said strict bedrest since that helps me. So I need prayers that next thursday will bring good news.

egads! I hope your uterus starts relaxing.

Hope your bedrest does you some good, Jill! You'll be in my thoughts.

Oh, no, mama..... So glad you went in to see your mw - I wish it was better news. Bedrest is no fun. I've been thinking about you these past few days and hoping that things were improving and will continue to do so. Hang in there mama, and take it wasy if you can.

I am so sorry and was of course hoping for much better news. Rest up and keep that little one cooking for as long as you can. Did you say you have PTL last time as well? Thoughts and prayers for an uneventful week coming your way!

small update: Called my ob to make an appt for thursday and talked with the nurse midwife there. They said they want to see me monday now instead. She told me that the combo of all of the things going on is making them nervous and they don't want to wait a week and have things happen. She also explained the cervix stuff, and I guess now that I'm anterior, soft and a bit dilated, I won't ever go back. That most likely I'll be on some form of bedrest the rest of pregnancy. This afternoon I took a half dose of terb. because I was starting to contract more regularly without doing anything, then took a nap. It helped some, luckily. I also lost a bit of mucus plug, which they said could be normal now that I'm a bit dilated.

another update, cause I have nothing better to do:
just talked to my midwife. She wants me taking the half dose of terb. from now on as i shouldn't be having contractions while at complete rest. And the mucus plug made her nervous, so she def. wants me to see the doc. I also talked to our old midwives and apparently at 28 weeks with dd I was 50% effaced...so we want to avoid that now. New midwife is now taking a sort of emotional support/terminology explainer stance only, as she really can't deal with PTL issues. I just want to have a good healthy midwife supported pregnancy! I asked her about taking care of dd and she told me that at least for the next two weeks, she doesn't want me here alone with her, as I can't be there in an emergency. : Oh, and I might not be able to go to the inlaws for xmas (3 hour cartrip), which is devastating to me. God I hope that Monday brings better news. This just sucks because I fully expected to be told that I was just having my normal irritable uterus issues.

Many ((((((HUGS)))))) I was on strict bedrest from 30 weeks with my first and it was hard, but worth it. I hope the ultrasound shows no change.

Jillybeans--I was thinking about you all day and saying lots of little prayers, hoping that I'd log on to read that your appt. went really well. I'm sorry to hear that you're on complete bed-rest but relieved to hear that they'll get you in on Monday rather than Thursday. Try to stay as positive as possible. Talk to your body and your baby, encourage them both to work together to keep your dear girl safely in your uterus for as long as possible. I will continue to pray for you both and envision only the best outcome.

I hope you get a lot of good answers on Monday.

Hugs to you. Hang in there, momma.

Jill - So sorry this isn't playing out as you'd hoped. I'm sure it is hard to let go of the plans (like Xmas trip) and the hopes / expectations (mw attendance, no problems) and accept the reality of what is needed right now... Hang in there and I will be hoping that each hour and each day are a little easier and more relaxed. I'm sure you'll go stir crazy but maybe you can also get into the zone for most of the time...

and : for a helpful, hopeful appointment on Monday! And please DO keep us updated!

Jill- Bedrest stinks!!! I have been trying to avoid it, and so far have (but only barely!). And to not be able to take care of your eldest right now . . . I hope Monday's visit brings better news. Perhaps you'll be able to get off of the terbutaline? That would be something, eh?

Jill,
I'm so sorry to hear you are going through this. Please take it easy. I will be thinking of you and sending positive thoughts for your appointment tomorrow. Many hugs!!

Jillybeans,

Hang in there! I'm so sorry to hear you're going through this. But I am glad to hear that you are being monitored closely and have lots of people watching over you. Bedrest is really hard, but if it helps, that's all that matters. Keep us posted!
