It's hard to believe Hazel and Lucy will be 6 weeks old tomorrow. The
days fly by so quickly around here, which is good but I also know I'll
look back and think how it all went by too quickly.
Gabriel and Sophia have finally adjusted to their new baby sisters.
They're playing much better together and love helping with Hazel and
Lucy.
My girls have a preference for their mama. Even when Kevin holding
them, they fuss! They acutally turn their heads/bodies in my
direction, especially if they hear my voice, but it's just like they
KNOW where I am.
They don't seem to know what to do with themselves after they've
eaten. If they're not sleeping or nursing, they're fussing. Hazel and
Lucy will each spend a few minutes in the swing or bouncy seat. They
love to be held (by me!) or carried in a sling, wrap, or mei tai. I
can't wait til it's easier to carry them both together. Right now the
only way it works is with them criss crossed in a pouch which doesn't
allow me to be very productive.
We have introduced a pacifier. We started it for car rides (they hate
their carseats and scream). We also began using a pacifier when we
went to church and they both wanted to nurse at the same time. Tandem
nursing two infants requries a lot of positioning, pillows and
exposure. They are using their pacifiers at home more now which is
saving my sanity and nipples!
The hair on the top of their heads starting falling out right around
Thanksgiving. They look really funny. It seems like the back and sides
are staying put for now at least.
They are both growing well! Our home baby scale showed Hazel at around
9 pounds and Lucy near 10.
