sheesh- 0-3 month clothes

NAK
Mairaed was, as of a week ago, 7 lb 3 oz. We foolishly have mostly 0-3 month sized clothes, which she is swimming in. We have approximately 68,000 outfits of that size. At what weight will she be in those? We have 6 gowns and 4 sleepers in NB size but I may buy more if it is going t o be more than another few weeks. I can't keep up with the laundry!

My two oldest never fit into NB clothes since they were over 9lbs at birth, so this experience was very new to me with Hazel and Lucy. They were in NB clothes for about 4 weeks. Once they were 8+ pounds I switched them to 0-3 month. A lot of it has to do with length, too. They were getting too long for NB things (I couldn't fasten it around their butts!)

ITA... my older kids were 7lbs 14oz and 7lbs 2oz but only fit 0-3 for about three weeks because they were long. They were only 20+ inches at birth but grew quickly. Lach was 21.75 so aside from some things, he's growing out of some 0-3 and I think all NB.

So it always seems odd to me to hear another baby NOT fitting 0-3! If she's a wee bit shorter, then by all means buy a few more sleepers in NB or something.

my oldest never fit into newborns, and 0-3 was iffy. my mother had to go out on the day we were bringing him home to get something as the outfit we had didnt fit him!!

this one is following suit, we are in 0-3's, and have been. he's not as long (older ds was 22 inches, he's only 20 at birth).

Aldria was born 7lbs 3oz.

I didn't start putting her into her 0-3 month stuff until she hit 9lbs at her 2 week apt. Prior to that she wore newborn onsies, gowns and pants. It wasn't exactly attractive but it was warm and it fit her. LOL

She's just under 12lbs now and still in 0-3 but she's shorter. James was out of it quicker because he grew length wise very quickly (he was 21.5 inches at birth, 24.5 inches at 2 months, 27.5 inches at 4 months...even now at just under 3 years he's 37.5 inches). I'm not sure how long Aldria is now, they didn't tell me at WIC.

I remember this with my DS. He was born at 7 lbs 9 oz and 19.5 inches long, which didn't seem that tiny but the 0-3 months stuff was huge on him. I think it only lasted about a week or two... seems like maybe around 8 pounds it starts to fit really well?

I totally thought this was about 0-3 being too small!

James never really fit into NB right. He was 21", but it was all leg, no torso. His legs were even too long for his coming home outfit (I called them his gangsta clown pants, because they were this baggy, polka-dot monstrosity that barely came up over the diaper)

We'll get maybe 2 more weeks in anything size 0-3 with feet, longer for onesies w/o feet. That stinks because most of the clothes we got as gifts are 0-3s.

Yeah, we're all out of newborns here and the 0-3s are looking small too. I also thought this was about how small the 0-3s are. Course, I have another one of the humongous babies who just keep getting humongous (8-12 at birth, 8-6 at lowest weight, 10-14 yesterday, so over two and a half pounds in a month). DD was wearing 24 month clothes her first summer when she was 6 months old and she wore them again this past summer (and I'm hoping some of them will fit again next summer!).

Rohan can wear some of his 0-3M now without it looking huge.. other stuff is still to big He's a bit over 10lbs now and 22 inches long. He's got short legs and a long torso though so if the length was in his legs he'd probably be able to wear it all.

I thought the 0-3m clothes WERE the newborn clothes! They make something smaller than that?

DS started out wearing 3-6m stuff. My mom bought him a single outfit in 0-3m and he only wore it once- after washing it was too small!

my mom bought baby a santa suit that is 0-3, but she swims in it. we took a christmas photo in it, but i think i will try to exchange it if i feel like braving old navy any time soon!

also, any disposable diaper but preemie is huge on her tiny bum!

Baby clothes seem to be big IMO. DD was 5 lb 13 oz, 19.5 inches and wore preemie clothes for over a month. DS was born on the 3rd, 8lb 7 oz, 21 inches and the 0-3 stuff is still too big on him.

Well, we just got back from the weigh-in. Mairaed is at 7 lb 7.5 oz... and still in a NB size. She has SO many cute things in the 0-3 month range- I can't wait to get her into them!
