Mommy and Daddy

Do your kids use endearing forms, or just "mom" and "dad"?
DSD is 14, and has been using just "dad" since she was about 10-11 y.o., but I sure do miss the days when she used to say "daddy" to DP all the time.

Does it ever come back?..

We are still mommy and daddy

Three of my kids (17, 14, 7) call me "mama" most of the time. (The 10-yo says "mom".) My oldest calls me "mommy" when he wants something; i.e., "PLEASE, mommy?" The 14-yo still says "daddy", as does the 7-yo.

My mom called her father "daddy" 'til the day he died.

I am sad that my large, hulking, little boy with a deep voice no longer calls me mommy I'm just 'mom' now.

my 8yo girl will probably always call me mommy

My son still calls me "Mommy", but he's recently let me know that if we're in public, he's gonna call me "Mom" and I'm not to be offended because I'm still "Mommy" to him. Most of the time, "Daddy" is now "Dad", unless he's talking about "Daddy" to his sister.

We are mom and dad to the older 3 boys.

My kids have never called us mommy or daddy. It has always been mom or dad. I will be sadden if they would decide to call us our first names on a regular base.

My daughter called me mom all through her teen years, then she went to college in August. Now she calls me Mama - and I love it! It's her little way of letting me know she misses me, too.

My son calls me mom, but sometimes, when there is NO chance anyone can overhear, he calls me Mommy, like he used to.

My daughter still calls DP Daddy most of the time, and always refers to him as "my Daddy".

Mine haven't called me mommy or mama for quite some time now. It was cute then, but as they grow so does their vocabulary. I like Mom okay too.

I love that my kids call me "mama". I find it even more endearing (and enduring ) than "mommy".

Dd started calling me Mom around age five. Before that she called me Mommy.
Since Ds's birth, though, she's started calling me Mama. I like it.

Mom and Dad ... or Cherie and Dennis ... I like all of it I called my mom mommy until about 10 years old then mom and after I was about 30 I started calling her mama sometimes - it somehow felt more endearing

Ha! My 27 year old brother calls my mom Mommy, even when referencing her. He doesn't get made fun of; most people think awww!

For some reason, SIs and I stopped saying "Mom" and just didn't call our mother anything when we hit early adolescence. My kids did the same. Then, to my surprise and delight, I suddenly became "Mummy" because they're such anglophiles. I love it!!!

it's mom and dad.

Ok- and another thought on this, sort of...

I always say mom and dad. My dc always say mom and dad. It sounds off to say dad and mom

My boys are 12 and almost 15 and they never call me Mommy. They don't use Daddy either but a lot of their friends do. It's a southern thing. Some of their peers say Mom but Daddy with a bit of a southern drawl.

I personal prefer Mama just get that from the girls.

We were mommy and daddy until just a few months ago. Now we're mom and dad. Cool with me. I do think I'd be very disappointed if either of them started calling me by my name.

Dd calls me Mum or Marmee sometimes.
