I know babies all grow at different rates but... WHOA!! I hopped on the scale with ds yesterday and couldn't believe my eyes. I *thought* he'd been getting big, but had no idea he was up to 15 or 16 pounds already! He's only 8wo! He was only 11 or 11.5lbs when the mw weighed him 3 weeks ago. Should I consider this a growth spurt?

At 5.5 weeks, my midwife weighed dd and she was 8-15...but the next day at the doctor's office she was 9-6. Hmmm?

Pretty amazing though isn't it, how fast they grow?

Wow, that's some growth spurt!

Early on, my ds was gaining about a pound a week. He seems to have slowed down some, though, in the past couple weeks.

It's so fun to watch them grow, isn't it?

You might check at your midwife's to see if her scale says the same thing, but it sounds if liam's mom has seen a pound a week your scale could be very close. That is exciting! I have been wondering about Ryan also, he gets weighed on the 21st again. I am just waiting to see what it says. I might do what you did and jump on ours with him to see what we see though, good idea

Tell me about it!! I was shocked when we went in to his 2 week appt and he'd gained 12 oz. He was at birthweight at 6 days so he had gained the next 12 oz in 6 days!! He's a nursing champ!

Even if the scales are that different I don't think it's that far off. His SM diaper covers have been getting awefully snug, and I tried on his MD size ones and they fit perfect. All of them start at 14-16lbs. I can't believe I have a 2 month old in Mediums already....

Next thing I know he'll be asking for the car keys. :LOL

I started CDing ds at 7 weeks and ordered mediums for him. They all fit just fine!

He's a chunkster, that's for sure.

some babies just gain weight faster than other early on!
