Nestle Goodstart ad on yahoo says this:

Are you an expert on your baby's immune system?

GOODSTART NATURAL CULTURES to help support a healthy immune system

Contains beneficial cultures like those naturally promoted by breast milk.

Beneficial cultures can support a healthy immune system in many ways, including increasing levels of key antibodies.

Offers complete nutrition, including DHA and ARA.

Bolding is in the advertisement.

They make it sound like the formula contains the beneficial cultures but breast milk only promotes it (like breast milk does not contain it).

Now moms will think the formula gives their baby's antibodies just like breast milk.

Can we report them to the FDA for false advertising? Is the statement followed by something that says it hasn't been evaluated by the FDA?

It does not say anything about the FDA. It says:

Become an expert on your baby's on your baby's health.

Then it takes you to this link so you can become an expert http://www.verybestbaby.com/GoodStar...ource=10075608

It continues to say the formula provides these things and that breast milk promotes them.

ACK! It gets worse! The video pictures make it look like the formula fed babies have MORE friendly bacteria than breast milk.

It does say good things about breast milk and says breast milk is best...but the rest is very deceiving! It kind of sends mixed messages!

:

Did they at least provide a source for their claims? Those claims are SO beyond stretched, it's not even funny. They are -- dare I say it? -- bald-faced LIES. UGH.

There must be more that we can do than just shake our heads in disgust, no? I know they are powerful but outright lying to the consumer and putting their health at risk???
