anyone else not get a single picture of labor or birth?

I REALLY really wanted to get some pictures this time around. I love those slideshows of homebirths some people put together. My labor just hit so quickly and full force that I didn't have time/ think about it! I'm not regretting my smooth labor.. just wish it had been a bit longer so I would have been able to think about that stuff. I actually wished for a longer labor than my last one but I guess it didn't happen. I'm missing my non-existant pictures!

I have a few pictures of the birth that my sister took, but only one of labor. My husband or sister (not sure who) took one picture before I snapped at them to stop...

I had a bunch of pictures of my first labor/birth... but even with a large number of images, I find that the experience is still sort of fuzzy and out of focus for me. I think that might just be the nature of birth... the details tend to drift away almost immediately.

Well...this birth was the *first* birth I got pictures of! LOL! One of my helpers was getting kind of nervous and antsy and a friend of mine said "Here! Here's the camera! Take pictures!" and we got it all. Well okay, she didn't start snapping until about 5 minutes before I started pushing, but I have the birth.

I did not, however get any pictures from my other labors/births. Just pics from after the birth. I'm sorry you missed out this time. If it hadn't been for my friend I'd have missed out on the pics again b/c in a 3 hour labor there isn't time to think about pics.

My husband took a lot and I need to go thru them - most are junk. My MW got some GREAT photos and printed them up and gave them to me today. I am going to try to get a few online soon.

I don't have any of labor/birth, either.

We didn't get any this time or the previous time. My problem is that I want as few people at the birth as possible and the MWs are too busy to take photos and I usually end up holding onto DH the whole time so he doesn't have a hand free for photos. So I've just given up on the idea of photographing labour and birth.

none here, either. with an hour-ish long labor, pictures were not on my mind until afterward!

None here, either. I forgot to bring the camera into the hospital, then it was too late when I thought of it.

Well, I had a two hour labor and then gave birth on the bathroom floor. I was alone for most of my labor and never expected things to happen so quickly. so...no pictures here. I wish I had pics, because I feel like the sequence of the birth in my mind is different than the sequence of events in real time. But I had a 17 hour labor with ds1, lots of pics and the events are still hazy.
I think Erica's right. That's just the nature of labor/birth. Otherwise, would you really do it again?!

I don't have any. We just have pics of Gabriel AFTER he was born. DH was too busy worrying and holding my hand during labor, and the hosp doesn't allow photos of the actual birth anyway. It's probably for the best, since I was buck naked and leaking all over the place.

We completely forgot our camera and don't have any pictures until after we were in our post-partum room. I kind of wish we had some pictures of her soon after she was born, but during labor I would have disliked anyone taking pictures of me.

i actually had planned on getting this fancy digital slr specifically for birth -- we were meant to go pick it up the day after i went into labor. needless to say it didn't happen -- and neither did my sisters make it to my labor on time so i didn't have my planned photographer. i was so disappointed.

andy did manage to snap a couple but he's not much of a photographer, especially with my powershot which doesn't do so well in low light. so all the pictures are crazy and blurry (and from the most unflattering angles ever!) like this one or this one. of course i''m glad i have anything but i now have my digital slr and it takes such gorgeous pictures, even in low light, that it's even more of a bummer.

I didn't have any pictures of labor with dd1, and her newborn pictures were on my digicam that was stolen the week after she was born when I moved...with dd2 there was a houseful of uninvited people who showed up and I still had no pictures...this time I got pictures! And I am so happy about it...even though I didn't have drugs before, parts of labor are very hazy being in the zone and I am so happy this time that the student midwife was able to take some pictures. The camera isn't great and some of the pictures are completely unflattering...but I am so happy to have the concrete memories.

Yeah, I went in at 33 weeks because I couldn't feel Desmond move and then 45 minutes later I'm getting a csection. No photos for me thank you.

I didn't get any labor pictures (DH was too busy playing pac man on his phone instead of taking pictures) but the instant she was out, He snapped one, with amniotic fluid still dripping off of her. After he sent it to his mother, I realized my nipple was in the shot.

There are a few of me pacing around the living room, having contractions at home, waiting for DH to get his wallet and the car key... but he's taking pictures instead. Then we skip right to Bridgette being weighed at the hospital. Not too shabby, but none of the exciting things in between.

none. i wish i had some...

No pictures of the birth b/c it hit like a freight train and SIL/photographer didn't make it in time. DH got a few of me in labor though and the earliest baby pic we got was when he was maybe 10 minutes old - they are all blurry though b/c DH sucks at taking pictures on manual and we didn't want to use the flash.

I brought both my camera and video camera, but got no pics until after baby was born. I think only with my oldest we have shots of her right after birth.
