Blanket or Knotted Dolls

Hi! I'm hoping to find directions for making a blanket doll or a knotted doll... it doesn't matter if it's a waldorf-style head or not.

I found an archived discussion with links but all the links were out of date, the sites were no longer active.

Any help?

Yeah I've seen that one, but 1) it's not exactly what I'm looking for and 2) I can't make heads or tails of it! I think it's a translation and many parts of it don't make sense to me...

"Now measure from neck to neck, with this doll it should be 15 cms"... " Mind the length way !"... Huh?

It also seems a bit more complicated than what I need right now. I'm guessing that for someone who has made similar dolls before, it all makes sense. But I haven't... yet!

These instructions look a bit clearer

I took the neck to neck to mean measure round the head, starting at the neck, going over the face and down the back to the neck.

I did it mostly by eye though, it helped to sew the body first so I could see what size head I wanted.

The book A CHildren's Year has at least one pattern for simple knotted dolls if you are in the market for a new crafts book. THere are about a million other simple- and not so simple_ crafts in there too.

Have you got an author or publisher for that book? I can't find it online...

EDIT: I found one called THE Children's Year -- is this it?
