My friggin' PERIOD is back. No way, holy crap, O.M.G!!!!!
I am nursing this babe constantly, I carry him almost all day long, cause he doesn't want to be put down, he sleeps right next to me 75% of the night, just maybe 3 hrs in the cosleeper...and I already have my period back???? WTF!!!! Niklas is 5 weeks tomorrow!
I was so happy to be done with the pp bleeding at 2 wks pp AND NOW THAT!!!

Life just isn't fair sometimes.

So I guess you must've not been bleeding anymore from postpartum? When does that stop? At this point I wouldn't know the difference from pp bleeding and a period, and I didn't even have a vaginal birth.

This is what I'm thinking. When did you get your first period after your other babies? Did you have a care provider for the birth? If you did I suggest calling them and asking. You could also post a question about in the Birth Professionals forum here.

I had some bleeding at about 6 weeks PP with my 2nd ds. I called the nurse because it concerned me. She said it was just AF and not to worry about it. I knew she was wrong. There was no reason for my AF to be back so soon. I was exclusively breastfeeding on demand, co-sleeping, holding or carrying baby in a sling all the time. I couldn't even put him down to nap. He'd wake up within 20 minutes, so I had to lay down with him for all naps. After that bleeding, I didn't have anything else until about 6 months PP. Then again nothing until around 11 months PP. At that time I started to have regular bleeding so I started charting again. It wasn't AF because I didn't ovulate again until about 15 months PP. So, don't freak out yet. It may just be what the PP said, a sign that you are overdoing it.

aw bummer! the same thing happened to me last time around. She was my first breastfeed baby and we co-slept, nursed exclusivly, didn't use a paci, etc.. and I still got my period back at 6 wks. I'm expecting it this time at least so I won't be quite as mad as I was last time

I got my period back at 4 wks pp with my first, on top of a very serious hemorrhage at the birth. Took my iron for a loooooong time.

Second baby: 6 weeks.

Third baby: 4 months (woo hoo!) But had spotting on an off from 6 weeks that I kept thinking was my period starting.


Like you, I co-sleep, exclusively breastfeed on demand and on every whim, and didn't separate from my babes in the early months. Go figure. I also cycle ever 19-23 days. I think my body is trying to cram in as many fertile cycles as possible! If only I wanted 22 children, I'd be set!

I am sensitive to the Mamas who have to induce their periods months and years after birth so they can try and conceive again - that sucks too.

Because of the spacing of my children I havent had an actual period since Feb of 2003! I actually am almost looking forward to being on a normal hormonal schedule.

I'll be honest, I was compelled to space kids two years apart when I got my period 14 mo pp last time and remembered how much I hate AF and started TTC right away.
