wooden animal patterns?

Where can I find patterns for animals like Holtziger, etc?

What I did was basically trace the shape off of my computer monitor. I found pics that were the size I wanted, and traced the outline. I am also using the pics for a guideline for painting them. It would probably be easier to print the image and then cut it out as a pattern. I am unaware of any patterns that are available that are similar to Holtziger.

I just free hand drew ours while looking at different ones off the site. It really was fairly simple.

Aha! Just printing out the pictures would work great, thanks!

what site did you print the pictures from? Did you just straight print the pictures or did you have to resize them? Thanks

I copied pics of Holztiger toys into Word and then resized them until they were approximately the same size at the original toy. Print as many as you can on one page, then, if you're using a scroll saw, you can then use spray adhesive to attach the page to your wood. Saw out the figure, then peel off the paper.

By the way, I just got a bunch of Holztiger toys, and they are so beautiful! My dad looked at them and said that the wood is poplar. He tried to get some at Home Depot, but they don't have 1" thick poplar boards, so I'm going to the lumber yarn next time I'm out that way.

I did the same as Colleen. My gramps is going to cut the shapes out for me. I found pretty straight forward pictures from RosieHippos. They have measurements too. Although I can't seem to find a Dachshund picture that is straight on. All the photos of the dachsund's are off to an angle.
