AP moms in Denton area?

I will be moving to Little Elm, east of Denton in May of 08. DD and I will be staying with my MIL for a year and a half while DH travels overseas for work. I will NEED to get away and be around AP/crunchy people. We currently live in Northern VT and are very active in the thriving AP community.

Jen, I will be moving to the Garland area (from what I understand that isn't very far from Denton) sometime next year, depending on when the Navy wants to move us. I'm also a part of a very active AP community here. Perhaps when I get that there we can have a playdate!

I'm in the Savannah community (becoming a city)...right up FM 423 from Little Elm!! LITERALLY about 5 miles away! YAY!!!

FYI, Garland is about 45 min to an hour away depending on traffic.

Denton is about 10 miles away but due to road construction is a MAJOR PITA and it's easier just to go to Frisco which is right down the street as well!

We're in Denton too! There's a DentonAP yahoo group, although we're more active with the LLL in Denton.

I don't live in Denton but, I go there once a month for prenatal visits at the Inanna Birthing Center. I absolutely love it in Denton and wish I lived closer. (I live about an hour away).

Isn't Jean wonderful? We used her with my baby and she is such a great person!

We also birthed with Jean! We've stopped by a few times since the birth just to say hi...

The Denton LLL is the only one I've ever attended, so I can't compare it to anything - but I love it! There is a morning and an evening meeting once a month and random enrichment meetings every few months. We usually attend the morning meetings. A great group of women!

I would love to meet up with some of you Denton-ish mama's soon! We're working on getting a minivan (currently a one car family, and dh has to commute with the car to work) so as soon as we're more mobile, I'd love to make some playdates!

I'm glad to know there is a good birting center nearby. We're TTC#2. The LLL sounds great. We have toddler (nursing one year and beyond) meetings here (in VT) once a month that are great. I'm really starting to look forward to moving to the area. I grew up in East Texas and when I visit people look at me like I've got two heads when I use a baby sling or breastfeed in public. It's nice to know there will be support in Denton.

Yeah, as far as I know there's not a toddler meeting, but lots of mama's do ebf!

way late posting, but we are looking to move to either Denton, Little Elm or Pilot Point (and possibly thinking of Providence) as we home search in the area.. bumping to see if there are any more moms in the area!

This is an old thread! Anyone from that way still around? I am in the north end of Coppell which is not crazy far. Seems like most natural moms are located East of Dallas.

Denton! I knew I was missing a huge chunk of mama information.

If anyone has contact info for AP groups, LLL leaders, etc., for the Denton area, would you mind dropping me an email (apc dot admin at gmail dot com) or PM here? I'd love to get it added for APConnect. We get so many new Denton residents looking to connect with AP groups, and I just realized we need more Denton info.
