Any Florida Midwives Here?

I am probably moving to Florida in April and I looking for a home-birth midwife in the Gainsville/Alachua area. I am looking for a midwife that will offer me pain managment support, emotional support, and woman to woman support during labor, but will be willing to be otherwise hands off (no internals unless I ask, no pushing directives, etc.) I will be about 6 months along when I move. Is there anything I should know about midwifery in Florida?

i highly recommend the midwives cooperative. www.midwivescooperative.com jessie was my midwife with both my kids. she is wonderful, and sounds like just what you are looking for. you also might try posting in FYT.

I think of the Gainesville/Alachua area as being the most midwife rich area of Florida. That might be because the Florida School of Tradtitional Midwifery is there and it seems the counties are crawling with midwives. I'm sure you'll find someone that clicks with you
