Had a few of those with my oldest son... no fun. Fortunately, for me anyway, they seems to clear up okay in a few days with diligence. Hope it clears quickly!

unfortunetly, most of my clogged ducts turn into infections. so i take lots of tylenol, lots of hot showers (when i can) and nurse on that side a lot OUCH!!!! it was easier with one DC now with 2 it's harder to take care of myself!!

If you can get some pokeroot, it's almost completely cleared up for me in just 24 hours and I've been dealing w/ this for 1.5 weeks.

Soy lecithin is supposed to help too... in Dr. Jack Newman's book, "The Ultimate Breastfeeding Book of Answers", and he recommends one to two 1200 mg capsules 3-4 times/day for chronic plugged ducts.

Sometimes you can see what is plugging it if it's plugged at the nipple. I used to get really hard, dry secretions on my nipples when I nursed Pixie. I could gently pick at them (gross, I know) in the shower and massage at the same time and I could sometimes get them out. They would look like pieces of spaghetti when it would come out!
