shelf life of AfterEase and peri oil?

I think I'm officially done using my AfterEase and also don't see me using any more peri massage oil any time soon. IF we have another baby, it won't be for about 2-3 years, most likely. Anybody keep supplies for that long? Would they go rancid or be ineffective after that long? I'm wondering if it wouldn't be a better idea to find a crunchy pregnant mama nearby and give these to her.

tinctures can last years if alcohol based and kept in cool dark place (fridge, cellar, lower cabinet). Oils go rancid eventually, no matter what conditions. Now I have had my self-made herbal oil last into a 3rd year--but I only keep a small amount of it in the bathroom, the rest in the fridge. However, if you have already had an oil that's NOT been refrigerated, it's probably already close to rancidity anyway.

How would I know if it's rancid? The oil doesn't seem any different to me now than it did when I purchased it a few months ago.

Good to know about tinctures, thanks. I may just keep the AE around since we're considering #4. At the very least I'd be able to loan it to sisters-in-law who may have babies before I have another.
