First PP period -- cramps?

I've been feeling pretty crampy the last week or so. I actually thought it was a stomach bug, but now I'm wondering if I'm having massive PMS. I never really had cramps before, though, so it's kind of weirding me out.

THe timing seems about right. With DS I got my period back when he was 20 months or so. Did this happen to anyone else?
thanks,
Erin

I just posted about this same thing in H&H. I'm really hurting today. I just took a warm bath but it did nothing.

I can't comment on the PP PMS, but I never experience PMS or cramps. Then I went on BC and still didn't feel anything. It wasn't until I stopped BC that I felt horrible. From what research I was able to find, it seems to happen when the hormones are not in balance. If you want to try a natural approach, Vitex may be good. I used it when stopped my BC because I couldn't deal with the cramps. If you are BF, I don't know it's safety with BF.

I used to have pretty bad cramps (enough that when labor got as bad as my worst cramps,, it was time to push!).

That said... my first postpartum AF after #1 -- I've described it as "Aunt Flo's revenge for being kicked out of the house for 80 weeks." I was sick and crampy for a week beforehand, had loose bowels, pains in my legs and back.... it was awful.

Things got back to usual (less crampy than when I was a teen) with PPAF#2.

Didn't happen with baby #2 though.
