I believe vaccines harmed my child/ren/family members/friends

Does anyone believe that vaccines contributed or caused any sort of problems in their own or other children they know?

Has anyone noticed a difference in their own or another child's health/development after a set of vaccines?

I'm trying to understand how many of us think their children or children they know have been affected by vaccines? :

At the clinic I work at, the most common things are sudden chronic constipation and poor sleep. That is the immediate effects seen by these parents.

The longer term effects seem to vary but skin problems and allergies are quite a common pattern that we have noticed.

my 4 yo (vaxed to 12 mos) has some sensory issues and crazy hyperactivity. it takes him forever to clear a cold. my unvaxed 18 mo, OTOH, is calm and has no sensory issues whatsoever, and clears a cold in a couple days.

i think they probably played a part, but how big a part, i'll never know. my ds was also circ'ed , ff'ed and born at 35 weeks, all of which have an effect on health and behavior.

if only i could turn back the clock...

Yes.

I have a child on the autism spectrum, and one with Type 1 diabetes. After researching both, I do believe that these disorders were caused (at least in part) by vaccines.

A friend has one child who is moderately autistic, and another with Graves disease. She and I both believe that her children's disorders were caused by vaccinations.

Another acquaintance has a severely autistic son. She says he was perfectly fine until his MMR vax, then he regressed dramatically in just days.

My cousin developed a severe egg allergy in his teens years. I do believe that vaccines played a part, since he didn't have the problem earlier in his childhood.

Yes - my son is ASD and became so after a very delayed vax schedule. He became chronically constipated, but this has thankfully passed. But his immune system has not really come back on-line, like a pp said - once he gets a cold, it takes forever to clear - and his ability to maintain a conversation seems to be permanatly impaired.

One of the other moms in our ASD group also believes her son was harmed by vaxes. He lost speech, eye-contact after the MMR..like she says - all the milestones were there..who ever heard our grandparents talking about kids who were fine and then suddenly weren't?

Absolutely yes.

I believe DS2 was damaged by both vaxes and flouride. :

I'm not sure but I wonder if the ones he had caused his asthma/allergies and sensory issues but of course I have no way of knowing concretely one way or another.

He was fully vaccinated to 9 months.

It's really hard to say. I was diagnosed with FMS a few months after my last TD booster- but I'm not really sure if I actually got sicker or just recognized a problem I've had a long long time and stopped trying to push myself farther than my body could handle. But I got all my vaxes "on time" from infancy through college (and then the TD booster 10 years later "on schedule"), so who knows if my FMS was caused by earlier vaccine damage? There's truly no way of ever knowing if vaccines were a factor or not.

None of my kids were vaxed in infancy- DD1 got most of her vaxes between the ages of 2 and 3, so she was caught up in time for preschool, and she didn't have more than one vax per month (although I didn't break up combo vaxes.) DS started his vaxes within a few weeks of starting preschool, and didn't "finish" the infant/toddler set of vaxes until closer to age 4. If anything additional was required for kindergarten entry, I got that for them, but none of my kids has been vaxed since then (for DS that was a little over a year ago.)

DD2 started her vaxes around age 1.5 because I needed to put her in daycare and I didn't know about exemptions then. She's the child with suspected ADD and ODD and chemical sensitivities and noise sensitivities. But did the earlier vaccines cause this? Did the earlier weaning (14 months) cause this? Were my nutrient stores too low while pg and nursing her due to closely spaced pgs? Or was this just one of those random things that would have happened to her even if everything else was done perfectly?

I certainly did not notice any obvious long-term health changes after any one particular round of vaccines- just mild "out of sorts" for a day or two following, and/or irritation at the injection site.

My dad's ex-partner's (my dad and she are both doctors) dd started having seizures after her 1 year shots. Don't know what the parents think, but my mom definitely questioned whether it was related. My dad has a patient whose ds was chatty and outgoing and became withdrawn and regressed verbally after his first MMR.

Yes. Mine had some serious reactions to most, immediately following. Dr.s tried for the longest time to convince us it was ANYTHING other than vax, even the will of God because it was clearly not something else. : They both suffer from long term effects, too. Now that we have stopped vaxing, some of those have lessened. I have hope that we will be able to help their bodies recover from just about everything but the neurological disorders (not from birth. onset and development was clearly vax triggered). I don't see how they will ever completely overcome the mental issues they now have, but I'm doing every thing I can to less their impact on the kids day to day lives, at least.

This is not just my belief, either. The kids' dr came up with this conclusion independent of us, and is officially treating them for "vax reactions" when she deals with the related issues. The dr that kept convincing us to vax even pointed out several things as vax reactions toward the end...but never reported them, and kept trying to pressure us into MORE vax! I was very lucky to find this new dr when we were kicked from the old practice.

yes!
my nephew developed a respiratory problem and a seizure disorder within days of receiving the Hep b vax at birth.
he died at aged 1 yr, at Children's Hospital, where'd he spent most of his life. he underwent major treatment and testing for metabolic disorders throughout that year and was autopsied (?) after his death. the doctors never found the "cause" of the disorder.
my brother and his wife have another son born 2 years after their first child and they've refused all vaccinations. he is now 2 years old and he has never been sick except for minor colds.

Yes. My BIL has severe nervous tics (I would not doubt that it is really Tourette's) that MIL swears started after a childhood vax, she has said he was never the same again. DH was dxed with severe ADD/ADHD and medicated for years, I wouldn't also be surprised if he was on the spectrum. DD1 received one round of vaxs before suffering an adverse reaction. She has been evaluated, and nothing came of it, but we'll see.

My nephew has excema which appeared after his 6 mo shots. I don't know if there's anything else going on vax-related because he has severe spina bifida, so it's so hard to tell if there is any other damage going on.

Yes, I know several families who attribute their childrens' sudden and dramatic health and/or behavioral issues to vaxes received at the time.

In one case, the family was our close friends, and when my friend was pregnant, I mentioned (once) that vaxes could be delayed until thoroughly researched, but they decided to go ahead with the recommended schedule.

I personally witnessed the dramatic change in their DS after the 1 yr shots, as did they. Their son has since been dx with an ASD, and the husband said he really, really wished they hadn't vaccinated their son.

Another family's daughter has an extremely rare blood disorder that they attribute to vaxes.

And I know 4 other children with similar stories -- bright, social children, hitting all the milestones on or ahead of schedule -- suddenly regressing dramatically after vaxes and never resuming normal development. All are now on the ASD.

Yes, unfortunately. But at this point I don't even know what exactly is wrong with my ds. We're still waiting for tests to be done. : But my gut feeling is that vaccines are part of the puzzle.

I had vertigo for 8 weeks after stupidly getting a flu shot in January of 2006. It was only the second time in my life I got the flu shot and the first time I ended up with bronchial Pneumonia. The first time I was only 15 years old so I forgot how bad it was until the vertigo hit.

Plus since the flu shot, I suddenly became allergic to Compazine, which I took for uncontrollable vomiting during severe migraines (which I get monthly).
