oy! PP bum issues...seeking advice!

i'm only about 24 hours pp, but my hemorrhoids really took a beating during my birth.

i was wondering if anyone had any tips or advice for me on soothing and healing. i've got an ice pack, witch hazel pads and prep H ointment. i've read that potato is a great remedy, but not sure how to use it. any and all remedies are welcome!

my bum is more sore than my vj - i had no idea that this would be the case!:

Sitz baths help. And make sure you are taking a stool softener, drinking lots, all that stuff that will make pooping easier.

You can grate a potato and make a compress out of it, it will stain anything it touches though.

You have my sympathies. Bum troubles are no fun.

Not in your ddc, but I have horrible issues already. Arnica homeopathy is great also calendula gel on a pad helped me immensly.

i think you're just supposed to shred the potatoes like hashbrowns and just sit them there- i hope they're flushable.

witch hazel is good for 'roids. I believe the potatoe thing I've heard before too...frozen peas in a baggie to help with swelling? (Although not my cup of tea to be freezing my butt crack while trying to cling to a baggie of frozen peas with my butt cheeks but it might work right?)
