ouch! contractions in my back!!! Some TMI

Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm secretely hoping it's back labor-but I doubt it! However I know they are contractions:

This is how I know they are contractions and not back pain-TMI alert

************************************************** ******

We DTD twice this morning. The first time it was with a vibrator and man the pain after was INTENSE!!!!! Normally I'll get contractions after sex-but up front these were bad and just in my back!!!!

So later we DTD again, no vibrators this time-and when I orgasmed (not as intensely) the ctx started again in my back.

I called my doula who recommended some lunges. I am putting heat on my back and walking which helps. Is there anything else I can do?

It's now become this constant dull lower back ache which intermittently gets stronger.

This may be the start of labor - or not. A lot of times, at least for me, sex causes REALLY strong contractions, with lots of pain. But then it doesn't go anywhere. As far as in your back, thats not that uncommon. It may be "back labor" or it may not be. I always feel contractions in my lower back and even down my legs. I hope this is it though! (If you want this to be "it"!)

I hope this is it!

After yesterday, I'm going to be recommending rice socks for everything! I sat with mine on my sacrum last night b/c it was hurting so much. It helped alot. I just wish I could lie on my belly so the sock could rest it's weight on the hurty part, but that just won't work.

A hot shower might help too.

Hehe, hope it gets better, or worse : if it's time for labor! I had back labor with my first (not from malpresentation, just where I felt ctx) counterpressure was the only way I got through it and it took 3 ppl taking turns to do it (they had to press *hard*)

Sounds exciting! I have been getting those once in awhile, too. But they haven't gone anywhere. Sounds like I need to DTD more often to get them started again!

I wish I had brought my rice sock to work!!! : While I hope it's time, I'm trying not to get my hopes up.

Thanks for the responses! I'm making DP put counterpressure on my back when I get home. This is really starting to hurt!

Try getting on all 4's too and rocking back and forth. If I remember right back pain is a sunny side up baby which isn't the worst but it makes it more painful.

For counterpressure until your DP gets home, you can do 'wall sits' (though not low enough to get a leg workout, lol). I liked being able to control the pressure this way - rolling up a towel and using that against the wall, or tennis balls in a sock, also really helped.

Well I got home-got the rice sock out-and DP put some counterpressure. The pain is gone. OH well-I can't believe that I am disapointed that the pain stopped. I guess I really want to be in labor!
