Xytex?

I am new to this site as well as trying to conceive. I have researched several sperm banks and found a donor we like a lot at Xytex. I haven't heard much about Xytex and wondered if anyone has used them, what their experiences have been and if there has been anything negative. Thank you.

We've just switched to them because our midwife has an account. I don't know much about them, but I trust her.

We've selected our donor from Xytex...we haven't dealt with shipping, etc. yet because the insemination isn't until 2008, but the process of selecting the donor and reserving (purchasing) the units has been just fine. Their customer service is very good.

Our RE has an account with them and their prices seemed reasonable compared to fairfax.

Good customer service... varied reviews from doctors

Hello,
we used a donor from this bank... they have good customer service, but the doctor we used with our first child had "fired" them for problems getting the goods there on time. Not a problem anyone wants to deal with.
However, we personally never had that experience...

Thanks, my midwife also has an account with them, which is why we are considering them. Frog, are you in Michigan? I guess it is a lot about trust. I am not sure how I feel about their 40 family unit policy. he donor we are considering already has 27 family units. That's a lot of siblings!

Yep, sure am. Is Stacia your midwife, I thought it was quite a coincidence that we both switched to Xytex because our midwife has an account. Still considering though, they have a 40 family unit maximum, seems like a lot. But then again, I keep coming up with new reasons to put this off. Maybe that's more the issue. NOthing is ever perfect.

Heh! Yep, we're working with Stacia. She's the BOMB. We love her. We worked with her last time we tried, too, and we're very excited to get going again.

Did you find her via MDC? We did. I was sort of poking around, trying to figure out how to pay for IUI, and she just sort of materialized.

My whole darn family is constructed based on the 'net, so why not have help getting pregnant from someone I met online? Works for me!

Actually, last month I got really ahead of myself and started researching the whole birthing part before I was even pregnant! I went to a screening of the movie "The Business of Being Born" (have you heard of it) at The bIrth Place and met and started talking to Stacia there. I was just feeling like I would have to go back to the sterile doctor's office again, so it was so great to see I had options. She is wonderful.

I haven't heard of it, no. Thanks for the tip!

We did not use Xytec for the perhaps silly reason that I didn't like their website (it reminded me of something from those movies set in the high-tech future.) We used PRS. That said, my RE's office really encouraged us to switch to Xytec, saying that their numbers were consistently much higher than PRS's or several other sperm banks. At that point we had already bought multiple vials from PRS and were going to use them before we considered switching and I got pregnant before we had to revisit the issue (on our 10th try and if the 11th hadn't worked we probably would have switched to a KD anyway...)

But my RE's office hightly recommended them based on numbers.
