How quick did you progress?

Just curious, how quick did you go from 0 to babe in arms (w/o induction)?

First baby

7.5 hours. I laboured at home and ate breakfast, took a nap, barely made it to the birth center, and delivered 20 min after arriving.
Miscarriage, I laboured for 2.5 hours and had one large push to expel the placenta in whole.
Expecting my 3rd and I have a feeling it will go even faster than the first!

My experience was to use visualization of being relaxed and open. I rode each contraction through, instead of fighting it. And I kept my lips and mouth relaxed by singing through each contraction. It was primal, but it worked!

I was at 1cm at 35 weeks, and at 1cm and 75% effaced at my checkup at 37 weeks. (Gave birth 2 days after that checkup.)

Contractions started at 6am; we went to the hospital around 8am. First check at hospital I was 4cm; second check 15 minutes later I was 6cm. I was complete around 10am, started pushing around 10:10 and le babe was born at 10:30am.

I woke up in transition so I'm not sure about before that (I'd been up a few times during the night but just felt a little crampy, didn't seem like labor), but from waking up to delivery was 9 hours (first baby). We got to the hospital 2 hours after I woke up and I was at 5 cm, 8 cm 2-3 hours after that. Pushed for two hours by my watch, though the others in the room said it was an hour and a half.

I woke up when my water broke, had the baby 18 hours later. All-natural, breech.

Of course, I can't be sure whether I really started at 0, some people walk around dilated for weeks, if that is what you were asking. I had a VE three days before labor started, but the midwife didn't say anything about dilation. She did seem to think I could still stay pregnant for a week or two more.

I went from 1cm (first check) at 6 pm to 9 cm (2nd check) at 1:30 a.m. to baby in arms at 4:00 a.m.
So all told 10 hours...I was in labour from about 11:30 to 6 pm.

With DD, she was here 12 hours after labor started.

With DS, he was here within 2 hours of what I would call real labor. I had 2 hours of non-painful fun contractions.

Both were born at home.

ds1- 6 hours, including 2.5 hours of pushing

ds2- I was 9cm when I got to the hospital 1 hour after waking up in labor. Long story later, I wasn't fully dialated for aouther 5 hours or so, and I only pushed 3 times.

ds3- 8 hours total maybe 5-10min pushing

I was 1-2cm at around 8pm and had my baby at 11:54pm the following night with about an hour and a half of pushing, soooo...about 28 hours!

With my first, it took 24 hours to get to 4 cm (15 hours of piddly stuff, then 9 or so real labor, with an hour of pit) and then another hour, hour and a half to 10. She was born 27.5 hours after my water broke.

With my 2nd, I had my first real contraction at 10-something, in active labor by midnight, and she was born at 3:23 am (or so).

I was at 1-2 cm for maybe 4 weeks.

As far as labor goes, my water broke before anything started, at 4AM and DS was born at 6PM, 14 hours later. I have no idea how the progression went, as we were at home with a doula who didn't do checks until an hour before he was born, when I got to the hospital and needed to push.

My water broke about 18hrs before labor started, then it was over in 6 hours.

I have to ask - what were you singing?

I was probably at 3 cm I think when I actually went into labor. From active labor to babe in arms - 2 1/2 hours. :

from when i knew i was in labor to ds' birth, it was 8 hours. retrospectively i think i had been in mild early labor all day. with dd, my water broke at 2am, and she was born at 8:15 pm.

About 47 hours.

11 1/2 hours from regular contractions to birth. My cervix was too high to check until I checked myself before leaving for the hospital, I was 5cm. 6 hours later I had a baby.

I was never checked before I went into labor, but from the first "real" contraction to birth was about 11 hours.

I wasn't checked before or in early labor, but from first contraction to babe in arms was 5 hours.

I was checked at a prenatal and was 0cm, 0% effacement, with an unengaged baby. About an hour later labor contractions started and babe was born 35 hours later. At 15 hours prior to birth I was 5cm and 90% effaced.
