One good thing that happened today

I know that many of us (myself included on days when I have both kids, which is 5 days/week) are having a rough time, so I thought that if you wanted to think about your day & share one good thing that happened today, it might make you smile for a few minutes,

I'll start. I actually have two things.

1. Silas has just started to be awake & happy & interested in things & I love seeing the little light in his eyes & his new half smile.

2. (OK This one is lame but true). DH put a diaper on Silas today for the first time!! Granted he didn't clean off the poop but it's a step in the right direction.

This is a great idea, Ed -- I was thinking of posting something along the same lines, in part to drag myself out of my own funk.

My good thing that happened today was that Conrad smiled his first absolutely, positively real smile, with eyes open, while looking at me.

And I got to talk to one of my best friends after not connecting with each other in a couple months. We have a longer phone date planned for tomorrow.

I was able to weigh Aldria at my PP check up and she's up to 11lbs 14 oz!

She slept from 11:00 to 3:30 last night. That was pure heaven.

Yesterday my good thing was that I got out w/my own mama and brother (he's 8) and took all four of my children to Conner Prairie ( its a living history museum) to play in the preschool area and then take a walk through the gingerbread exhibits. They were so awesomely behaved!!! All four of them!! No really! It was wonderful.....then we went and ate Burger King and I let them play in the playland and no mishaps there either! It was REALLY nice.

Yesterday evening DH and I left the two older kiddos with one of his sisters, and we took the babies with us and got out of the house. It was a nice little break for me.

deans seborrheic dermatitis is 80% better

good post idea.. thanks we should do it weekly..

I assume he's sleepy like the chiro said he might be, but he slept most of 6 hours last night, then up twice over the next three hours for just a few minutes. I nearly cried I was so happy!

And this morning when I was trying to get him to open up wide he attempted it and it was SO cute!!!

I got both boys out the door in record time today- 20 minutes! And Isaac was cooperative! Yahoo! This is good considering I will be dropping ds1 off at childcare when I go back to work. I need to get the routine streamlined.

Big smiles from Caleb!! He started doing it yesterday for his big brother who thought it was hilarious. He was laughing which made the baby smile more. Consistent big, interactive smiles today!

I am alone with the baby today so maybe I will get to do some much needed housework done. Boring, yes...but it would be good to feel like I don't live in a hovel.

Nicole,
Where do you live?! I went to Earlham (the college that runs Conner Prairie)! You must be pretty close!

Yesterday DD1 finished her first quarter math and vocabulary, DD2 finished first qr art, math and spelling, and did a week's worth of history and DS1 finished first qr phonics and English, a week's worth of spelling, and two days' worth of math.

Maybe we'll get a few free days over Christmas and New Years.

Ds1, myself, and Ronin went to bday party last night. I met some great people and although ds1 was being a maniac, no one judged me.

My good thing today was we were the only ones in the waiting room at the doctor's office this morning and were in and out 30 min after our appointment... like in the car and on the road out!

My good thing yesterday was Mom came bye and took sick toddler off my hands for a couple hours and got her to eat something. DD1 had been refusing everything including the breast and sleeping all day with a fever. I had to fight her to get her to nurse and take a dose of tylenol. I needed the break and it did DD good too.

my mom and i are respecting one another a heck of a lot more lately and i'm grateful for that...it feels good.

oh and one more thing, i LOVE where we live. : tall pines make me so joyful.

I haven't felt crabby even once today (yay me!).

I could absolutely devour my DD1 when I take her out to play in the snow in our yard...her blue eyes and pink nose...and when she digs in the snow it's totally hysterical.

My DH practically pushed me out the door last night so I could go spend an evening (well, until 1:00 am) with some girlfriends getting some Christmas craft projects done. I took DD2 along, but it still felt like a much-needed break (which might explain why I haven't felt crabby today).

Great idea!!

H slept in the swing, thus allowing me to shower!!

S's preschool was cancelled due to the snow, so the 3 of us went to trader joes and everyone cooperated.

Its snowing like mad, and it looks so pretty out.

DH got out of work early, but that was 3 hours ago...and hes stuck somewhere in the horrid traffic thanks to the storm (ok, so it was a positive thing he got out of work...and I love the snow!!)

S decorated stockings for us, H napped in the sling, and I cleaned out the fridge.

Nice peaceful day around here!

Great thread idea! My mom is here visiting so I haven't been checking in as much as normal and am just getting to this thread.

My positive thing was that Piper slept from 9:45-3:45 a.m. last night in her Amby swing! Amazing! (Though I'm not counting on it happening again for another month.)

And then my mom got up with my older two dd's and I got to sleep in until 8:30 this morning with Piper (I went to bed around 11:15 last night). I felt so much better today!
