Gestational Diabetes Test at 36 weeks????

ok this is my second child and for the first part of my first pregnancy we did this test at 6 months that was in America now that im living in Armenia they want to do it at 36 weeks isnt that a little too late to be testing for this?

There is no reason for them to think I have it anyways I have only gained 14 lbs and im already 8 months. My first child was not big and this one isnt measuring big. I really think they just want my money cause they know they can get it they charge almost 100 bucks for this test to be done.

Should I get this done?

sorry you didnt get any replies.
I wouldn't get the test done, especially if you have no signs. at this point, it seems like a non-issue, not to mention all the controversy surroungind GD.

Are you sure it is the GD test, or did they say the GBS test?
The GD test is for gest diabetes, the GBS test (which is a very common and routine test here at 36 weeks) is to test for Group B Strep, it's a totally different test. If they really do want you to take a gd test(which involves drinking a suagry drink then having your blood drawn), tell them no, taking it at 36 weeks is ridiculous, if it is the GBS test (which is a swab of your vaginal/anal area) then you can tell them yes or no depending on whether or not you choose to have that test.
