PP AF at 5 weeks?

Are you kidding me? Last time it was 10 MONTHS after DD1 was born. Now it's 5-6 WEEKS?! I am so confused and a little angry too. DD2 is practically attached to me at the boob--how can this happen? Does this mean my hormones are out of whack?

Or is this off-and-on lochia that hasn't ended yet?

ARGH!

I just posted a very angry thread about this a few days ago. Same thing happened here. 5 wks pp and AF when the last time it stayed away fro 13 mos. I am beyond pissed.
But you know it could go away again and it also doesn't necessarily mean you're ovulating.

I'm trying to figure out why the return of the periods is such a big deal..... I know I'm going to get mine again sooner or later, breastfeeding or not, so I really don't get the gist of the fits, seems like something too mundane to waste energy on with babies to enjoy....Why is it such a big, angry deal when the period returns? :

No, I'm not that lucky, mine are heavy flows, painfully crampy as hell and I get PMS.

Aw, Lindsey, that sucks if it is AF. Is it possible that you are just being really active and it's lochia? I think that's probably more plausible since you are nursing two!! Well, i hope so anyway

: When I got mine back last time it was 6 mos. PP but then really irregular after that...like I only got it every three months for a while then every two etc.

He's 4 weeks today and I am spotting pink. I will be SOOOO upset if it's AF already!!!!!!

Lizzie, I know for me, it seriously hurts my milk supply each time I have a cycle. So, I know I would be very upset if it came back early too. Most people don't enjoy dealing with AF.

Geez, we're 4.5 weeks pp and I haven't really ever stopped bleeding lochia yet. It's light and spotty, but never went away completely. How long does lochia typically last? TG I got those mamacloth pads.

sounds like lochia to me...MW says we can bleed up to about 6 wx. i would think it can come and go. i know my flow changes if i am up too much, it doesn't take much either for it to become heavier...usually its pretty light. are you having cramping and other symptoms of period? i wouldn't think your period is back so soon...then again i could be wrong.

my period didn't come back w/ megh til she was like 2 years old i think. it was way cool to go that long, but sad when it came back. i hope it doesn't come back soon this time. but if it does, it does...

I had what was basically a light AF when DD was 6 weeks. Then nothing again until 12 months PP!!! The OB said that hormone changes can cause whacky things to happen.

Hopefully it isn't AF. It is way too early to have to deal with that in addition to two newborns!
