"maybe you'll have a christmas baby!"

i swear everyone i talk to says that. and its getting old! maybe i'm just cranky.
and we are pagan, so it doesnt have the same significance to us as it would to most others i imagine. though i wouldnt mind having a Yule baby

I must admit, I'm usually the one to say that to people! My EDD is tomorrow, but I usually add, "it'll probably be a Christmas baby."

But I think the reason why that comes out of my mouth is because I want to be prepared for the baby to be 2 weeks late! I don't want people asking me at Christmas, "you're still pregnant?" this way they seem to think I'm due around Christmas.

anyway, I can see why it'd be annoying though, if people are constantly saying that to you.

I've been sick of this since June! We are Christian, but I HATE Christmas. I also hate how much baggage strangers feel the need to attach to my unborn child possibly being born that day. We don't even know that they'll be born anywhere near Christmas, and people are asking if we plan on celebrating their half birthday instead

Absolutely. Because obviously what I want to be doing -- instead of enjoying eggnog and yummy food and midnight mass and present opening with my family -- is being in labor and yawping through contractions. Sounds like WAY more fun that Christmas Traditions, doesn't it? *eyeroll*

Even though we celebrate the full 12 days of Christmas, I'd really rather enjoy those first two, and get to the baby havin' the day after, you know?

Totally

Very sick of it.

Yep, very sick of it. I always say, "Or maybe a solstice baby, or a new year's baby, you never know."
I don't actually blame people for saying it, it just gets repetitive. It reminds me of when I worked at a family-style Italian restaurant and I would set a huge platter of food on the table. Every time, someone would crack, "Well, there's mine. Where's everybody else's?" Funny the first 20 times, unbearable the 100th time!

my edd is 12/22 and i get that a lot. i'm sick of it. so what if my kid has a birthday around or on christmas? right now the priority is a healthy baby who will be loved. my kid's birthdays will be just fine thank you very much.

Yes, sick of hearing it from other people but now I must admit a little voice in my head is saying it too!?!?!?!! AAAAAHHHHH! I'm driving myself crazy!

I actually did not want to have a baby in December but while TTC we "forgot" to skip March and then said just go for it! It was only our second cycle trying. Bingo! December! If this baby is born on Christmas Day I will laugh. But not till later.

PLEASE come before Christmas, Baby!

My due date is December 24th, and I hate telling people! I really don't want the baby to be born on X-mas, and I don't want to be in labor on X-mas.

It was cute back in June-I am so sick of it!

Can you tell I am really really cranky?

My EDD is Christmas day...I'd love to not have the baby on that day or even close to that day. MW thinks baby might come early but whatever happens happens. At this point when people ask when baby is due I say "any day <love watching the panic enter their eyes as if I'll drop the baby in front of them> or January"

My edd is Christmas Day, too. And I really don't want to spend Christmas Eve or Christmas Day in labor. Call me selfish, but I'd really like to enjoy those days with my 2 kids dong the whole Christmas family thing. And people seem to really enjoy suggesting this one will come on Christmas Day. I'm hoping for next week, my dh thinks she'll come on the day after Christmas. I guess we'll see.

Yes!!! I don't celebrate christmas at all and actually rather dislike it so it drives me crazy. My EDD is 12/16 so people usually say, "you might have had a christmas baby, but they'll probably take him before that." I usually just say, "I don't even celebrate the holiday, but whenever he comes is fine with me." Then I sit back & enjoy their reactions to THAT double whammy...not inducing AND doesn't celebrate Christmas. hehe

: We're Pagan too! Besides not having the same meaning, we resent the appropriation of the Solstice holiday which was already celebrated as the "Birth of the SUN" before the christians came along, and get cranky about it.

Really now, what if you're Jewish or Muslim or Hindu. Was anyone getting crap about a Chanakuah baby? I hate ignorant asshats who are self centered enough to believe everyone thinks the same way they do.

Mmm venting is fun. I haven't had much opportunity to vent at people lately. I bet that's another reason why my BP was up :

YES! Mainly bc I'll get my hopes up about it knowing it won't happen. Considering I was 5 days late with dd the odds aren't good for ds coming the day after his edd.
