Midwives want to induce me, what do I do?

Thread Starter
if I havent delivered by tuesday or Wednsday ( i would be 40 wks1,2 days) they said that thier doc is only going to be at hospital that day and if this is another big baby w/ Shoulder Dystocia they would like thier back up doc there because he wont want to do a c section right away and will be more patient on trying differnt positoning. They said other docs wont be as patient and at first sign of baby possibly not fitting they will c sec him out!

AHHHHHHHHHHHH I dont want another induction but I dont want another c section either, I have another ultrasound scedulded for monday to see how big baby is, but thats not accurate anyway..... pleaese send some vibes to baby to get out so I do end up w/ an induction

sending you good vibes!

We had a u/s the day before dd#1 was born, because she was 42 weeks and they wanted to check the fliud. They told us she would weigh 8 lbs. 12 oz.
Well she was born the next day and weighed 7 lbs. 8 oz.!

I also have a friend who was told her baby was a 9-pounder, based on u/s. That baby weighed only 6 lbs. 9 oz. Where do they get these ridiculous estimates from u/s? I just don't get it.

I hope it all works out for you!

ohiomommy1112, i right there with you. I'm 41 wks and 2 days so my VBAC clock supposedly ends on Tuesday. I'm letting MW try a catheter balloon on Saturday. I'll go home and get the nipple stimulation going. I had NST and u/s today and everything looks good so i'm hoping we both have babies within the next few days!

I'll be sending you positive birthing vibes!

Exactly. If there's no clear cut reason for inducing, you don't have to do it. If you're asking what to do, my advice would be really simple: just don't do it. But you have to make that call on your own.

Hi Betsy -

I'm sorry you are having to deal with this. It would be a hard decision for me to make, since I would definitely rather have Dr. J on call than some random knife-happy doctor. OTOH, I certainly don't want to be induced!
