Hi, I am Andrea, 27, living in Coventry, RI. We just moved to this wonderful old farm basically out in the country 6wks ago. In another life I was an Electrical & Computer Engineer but now I am a SAHM and loving it (most days). I have been married to my college sweet heart for 5yrs, we actually got married in college summer of our Jr year. He is currently supporting the family as a Mechanical Engineer at an amazing product development firm in Providence, RI.

I have one DD, 22mths who I just ADORE, I can't wait to expand out family. In our very limited free time I like to knit, travel and just hang out with my family. Hoping to learn to garden and grow lots of fresh veggies next year. My hubbie is a huge car NUT, and now that we own a large 3 story barn in just 6 weeks he has managed to accrue 3 more free parts cars and a put few other friends cars in winter storage. Next year he has plans to hold a few car shows in our field.

Hi I'm Kari, 36 years old, married almost 5 years and mom to a beautiful 2 1/2 year old little girl. We've been riding the infertility wave for some time and I finally, finally just a BFP this week. My hcg levels are low, so they are watching me closely. Fingers crossed everyone has terrific pregnancies and healthy babes!

I'm Kristie, a WAHM in PA. I run a *small* daycare in my home. My husband, James, and I have been married 10+years, and we currently have 6 children- Samantha age 12, Jake age 9, Kirsten age 8, Avery age 7, Sophie age 4, and Gage will be 2 in Feb. Last year, on Christmas Day, I lost a baby due to an ectopic pregnancy. It took me this long to concieve again, with the help of CLomid and progesterone supplements. I'm very worried this one won't stick/has implanted in the wrong spot, but I'm taking each day as it comes. Fatigue is setting in, so I'm taking that as a good sign. I'm due in late August.

I'm Aimee and my husband of a year and a half and I live in Baltimore. I am a producer at a local public radio station and my husband is a computer programmer and voracious reader. After 5 months of trying I became pregnant, and am exactly 6 weeks along today. I am "due" August 8th (8/8/08!) we are planning to birth at Special Beginnings, a free standing birth center and met with a midwife ( he was awesome!) yesterday. After a trying week because of work issues and a miscarriage scare I had an ultrasound yesterday and was able to see the little dot of cardiac activity...so even though my boss is being a real pain about this, and I am nauseas and tired, I am still really happy.
I am taking a yoga teacher training course, and hope to be able to teach yoga and do something else, maybe in journalism, part time after the little one comes.
My husband is not sure what he believes...open minded to spiritual beliefs, not a big fan of organized religion. I have found a lot of my beliefs reflected in my study of yoga...so still working on that.

I am an artist, a sculptor and painter, but that has mostly been on hold since our daughter was born. I grew up in the mountains of Colorado and in the UK. We are really excited about number 2. Hi! I'm 30, as is DH, and this will be our first child. We're happy to live in Austin, TX and work in the tech sector. This will be the first grandchild for my parents, and the 6th on his; we're being kind of incautious and telling family already!
I figure, if anything goes wrong : I'm going to want my mommy to know.

Our EDD is August 11, and my first appointment is Dec 20.

I'm Dana. DH and I are 26 years old we have been married for about a year and this will be our first child. I'm a special ed teacher, he's a cook. We began dating when we were 17 and were married on our 8 year anniversary. I am a bit of an over-planner/control freak when it come to big life events, so we already have names picked out and I figured out the maternity-leave situation with my job when I started this past summer. I am looking forward to a homebirth with a midwife. My EDD is 8/14.We are Jehovah's Witnesses. I'm the oldest in my family and he is an only child, so our child will be the first grandchild on both sides. We plan to tell family Christmas week, we'll be visiting everyone that week since my mom and I have the whole week off (she teaches also). I can't wait to tell them, my mom is gonna be thrilled!

I'm 34, DH is 46, and this is our second child. We have an awesome 4 year old son who was born at a freestanding birth center. We are planning to have a homebirth with this baby and have some appointments with midwives next week.

Hi, I'm Rachel, and have been married to my wonderful husband for 6 1/2 years. We have two children, a son who is 5, and a 2 1/2 year-old daughter. Right now I'm a SAHM, and most of the time loving it. Both kids are very busy little people! We are Latter Day Saints (Mormons). If you've heard weird things- they probably aren't true. But that's how it goes.

We've cloth diapered our children from around 3 months on up. Now our youngest is potty-trained it's time to have another! We really didn't have a choice in using cloth because disposables kept giving them rashes. I'm thinking of just starting cloth right from the start with this one, but 12-14 diapers to wash a day is scaring me!

Anyways it's nice to be here, I've never belonged to a DDC before and thought it would be fun.

I'm Nicole, a SAHM momma to 3 kiddos! Dh and I have been together for 10 years...We just had a very devastating m/c in September. I am still breastfeeding my 18 month old. We are expecting our fourth child on August 8th. We are hoping, praying and wishing for a sticky healthy baby. We have a u/s on the 18th to see how we are progressing.

It's so hard to be excited with having a miscarriage. Every cramp or twinge has me worried. I am trying to take it one day at a time.

I'm Corinne, a sahm to my wonderful little boy Fynn who is 13 months (today!). My hubby and I love being parents, and are so fortunate to be expecting #2 on August 18th This was our first cycle ttc #2, so we really lucked out. We live in Mass, and will probably move to another area in the state in the spring, we're looking for a bigger apartment to house the four of us!

I lurk on this site an awful lot, but need to start posting more... it's tough when you're chasing a toddler around though

So far this has been a great year and I am completely overwhelmed and grateful for it. My dd Philomena had open heart surgery this past July so it had been a hectic year. But she is doing beautiful, its been a great success. And we decided that after she was all healed up and doing fine we would stop using NFP to avoid and just see what happens. So this is what happens . And we are so excited. It is still sinking in though. This still feels so weird to me, having my fourth, it took us 3 years to conceive our first and I would have been happy with one and now look!!! I just feel so blessed. A H+H 9 to everyone! Hi! I'm Meshele and I'm 28. My DH is Tim and he's 25 (a baby, I know! lol). We've been married a little more than 2.5 years. Tim's an electrician and also a student (hoping to be self employed one day!) and I am blessed to be able to be a SAHM to my three children from a previous marriage. That marriage ended not long after I found out I was pg w/ my DS, James, who is 3.5. My two DD's, Secilya and Ellie, are 7 and and 5 (she'll be 6 1/31/08).

Now Tim and I are expcting out first child together 8/14/08, my fourth child. We couldn't be more excited! We're traveling to his family's house for Christmas next weekend and none of them have any clue! Should be exciting!

We're most definitely Christians. I was raised non denominational, but I don't like even that title. I believe the Bible and every single word of it and study it extensively and effectively apply it to my life. Or atleast, I make every attempt to apply it to my life everyday, praise the Lord! That's all I'm really sure of! This is the same philosophy I raise my children with (and DH, too *giggles*)!

We had a major lifestyle change that officially began 1/1/07 and that's when we began to eat organic and yeast/sugar free. We live as naturally as possible and I'm even trying to learn to garden. PM me if you garden! I am struggleing! I want to veggies and the whole nine! We live in rural MS, near Jackson, on about 5 acres or open pasture. Its a lovely place to raise a brood!

Hi! I'm Daisy and I have been reading here awhile trying to decide whether I should chime in or not since I really won't be of much help along the way.

My best friend who is also on this site is a surrogate for me and our due date is Aug 17th. Thus the reason why I won't be of much help. However this will be my first and it has really been a long awaited child in my life. I am looking forward to experiencing this pregnancy as close as I can since we work in the same salon.

I am a full time stepmother to a 13yo boy/man. Married to DH for 6.5 years. Garden, quilt, learning to knit, cook, ride motorcycles (guess for not much longer for awhile).

We are planning a home-birth, her second, which I would do if I was pregnant. I plan to cloth diaper and working on making a few. I have a few fertility things hubby and I are trying with new insurance so if those don't pan out I will have plenty of time to attempt inducing lactation before birth. Breast feeding is so important so even if that doesn't work I will use a LactAid.

Hello from the cold Midwest

I am new to the forums, but not to the pregnancy ride. I am currently pregnant with baby #3, due on my birthday in early August! I have been a bit nervous about having a third baby but once I calculated my due date, I felt like God was giving me a sign everything was going to be OK and pretty fabulous, too. I have a 5-year-old DD and a 2.5-year-old DS. Hubby is 31 and I am 26. We live in the Midwest where the weather is kicking our bums right now. :Cold, ice, snow, loss of power--no fun! We are planning to move further north at the start of summer which is not helping me cope with this pregnancy. I moved when I was pregnant with #1 and we finished unpacking the day before she arrived. I hope we make better time this time around!

I gave birth in a hospital with both of my previous babies and I am in limbo right now as I try to decide how to approach prenatal care and delivery of this baby. I am an LLL Leader and try to live as naturally as possible but there is little choice outside of the hospital OB Ward for delivering a baby where I live. The nearest certified midwife is 2 hours away and I am unsure if I should even pursue such route since it is doubtful we will be living in this area, let alone this state, when the baby comes.

I hope to meet as many of you as I can as we begin this journey together! Stay warm ladies!

Greetings Mamas! I'm Brandi from north central Louisiana. I'm 34, DH is 35 and DS Gage is 14 months. We have two yella labs (Stella & Bleu) and a cat (Beignet ~ pronounced Ben-yea). I'm due 8/15/08 which is my oldest niece's b-day and the anniversary of Woodstock. DS was 2 weeks overdue but was stuck (posterior and his head was tilted) so I'm hoping not to go over this time since I will be attempting to VBAC. I hadn’t thought of 8/8/08 but that would be kind of cool! DH and I have been together for nearly 14 years but only married 3.5 (our anniversary is in March). We got married on our 10th anniversary after being engaged for 5 years. He is an only child and I have 2 sisters (48 and 28). We lived in CO for about 8 years (Winter Park, Denver, Greeley for me). We are both huge LSU fans and are very excited about going for our second National Championship since 2003! I am a Yogi and use its principles and teachings in my daily life. I was born and raised in the Episcopal Church and currently work part time as my church’s Youth Christian Ed. Director. I have a degree in Community Health and a Masters in Public Health (which is why I am selectively/ delaying vaxes until after 2 years) and have worked mostly with teen mothers and incarcerated males in my professional life.

I have not told anyone (including DH) about the pregnancy. I plan to wait until after the new year and my first OB appt. I don’t want DH stressing about finances during the holidays and I swore after my last pregnancy I wouldn’t tell anyone until 12 weeks. It’s been stressful keeping this to myself and I know I’m going to have to get creative for Christmas and New Years to avoid drinking where no one will notice.

I'm 34, mom of a 6 year old and a 4 year old. I'm a graduate student working on my dissertation which I hope to finish completely before my due date. I'm therefore a little stressed at the moment and unbelievably tired! (what's with this first trimester exhaustion?).

I nursed my first child until 16 or 17 months and then sadly weaned due to my second pregnancy and the pain (and also an illness that was making me very weak). I nursed my second until 24 months. I'm hoping to go longer with this one. We cloth diapered using a service for prefolds and lots of fun wahm-made covers. This time we want to go all the way and cd/wash at home. Kids are un-circ'd. What else? Selective vac'd, we currently have a religious exemption. Researching it all again for this one. Anti-consumerist, low consumption. Trying to be a low-media family. Organic food. Kids are currently in a progressive school. Gentle discipline.

I guess that's it for now. Glad to be getting to know you all.

Hello, all, I'm PennyRoo (and I'm noticing I'm the third person here from little Rhody - it appears the smallest state in the US is disproportionately represented in the gestating category!). I'm due around August 17th; feeling nervous but excited after a long time TTC and several very early mc. This will be our 2nd child; I have a wonderful 5.5 yo DD who is just hankering for a little brother or sister. I work in social services, am a passionate gardener and vegetarian (since the age of 8!), and love animals - have 2 rescued cats and a yellow lab who was rescued from hurricaine Katrina. That's it for now - looking forward to getting to know all of you, to offering one another support, and to celebrating our August arrivals!
