how backwards is this??

We are in the midst of a big ol snowstorm here.

DH went to work today bc there was a meeting, but it got cancelled at 1 - he left soon after, and is still not home. He just called about an hour ago, and decided to stop and take a break...but he wanted somewhere to get food, and park, and that is open...so, (haha) hes at the Bruins game. parking, food, its warm, its open late, and the company is paying for it - they offered to get him a room since they screwed up by not cancelling the meeting sooner.

Hopefully he will make it home after. my poor dad is out starting the snow blower (he had his surg last thurs and still has a foley cath in) and then hes coming in to watch H so i will go blow for a while. sigh. my mother is out shoveling and playing with S.

So, the one able-bodied person to handle the snow is at a hockey game, Im sure kicking back, having a beer...and I'm going out to shovel and push the blower. Sigh.

If it makes you feel any better, my husband is currently campaigning to secure an hour of "alone time" every day. Ummmmm... other than the 9 hours of alone time you spend at work every day?

Oy, that sucks Kelli! Hope your dad takes it easy.

And Erica, I would just tell him he can have alone time from 11-midnight (provided of course, both boys are in bed and sleeping). I know this is easier said than done as my husband just gets an hour of alone time every night while I do bath & bed for DD (while hauling DS around) & then more alone time until DS falls asleep. I can't even be bothered to ask him for help cause I know he'll trot out the "I need time to unwind" excuse.
