coming out? maybe a first step, but doesn't deserve applause

In my book, that's not coming out...
She could try walking down the carpet, sitting next to her, identifying her as her "partner", but to middle america, that's totally pass-over-able. Only queers know that's her partner.

part of me agrees with chancita and part of me is happy because even small first steps are better than no steps....

good on her! It's more difficult for some people to come out than others.

I'm so glad she's taken this step....not least because I've had a crush on her since, oh, let's see...age 16 or so? :
Here's hoping this is just the beginning!

Did you all know she was gay? I had no idea but I've never really thought about it, Ive only seen a few of her movies. Has she not been married?
Yep, we all knew she was gay. Just like Rosie back in the 90s.

She doesn't like being a celebrity, she just likes to work. She's already had one unbalanced person try to kill a president to try to impress her, and if she wants to keep her "person" out of the spotlight to decrease the chance of another person developing a strange one sided relationship with her, I completely respect that. Or to keep Cydney's life as normal as possible, so that she can go to the grocery store without security and her boys stay less recognizable. She's fine doing what she's doing IMO.

Shows you what I know. I thought she came out years ago.
