linea negra - when does it usually fade?

Not sure if this is the right forum, but I figured it fit the "beyond" part well enough...

I'm 6 months pp and still have a pretty good linea negra - I'm not worried or anything, just wondered when it might go away or if this is normal???

Secretly, I kind of like it!

I don't remember, but my babe is 19 months and my line is gone.

I don't remember when mine faded either! I know it was still there at 5 months pp b/c I was talking about it with a friend who had just had a baby. And, now at 21 months, I know it's gone, but I can't tell you when it faded completely

After DS1, it took about 9 mos for my LN to fade.

I never got one with DS2 or DS3.

I like these replies. I don't remember having one particularly in my earlier pregnancies and have no idea when it faded, if I had it at all. But, I have a very pronounced one this time, and I like it - I think it gives my stomach some...style. It's a mother's stomach, for sure, and I like that.

Nice .

I think mine was gone just before a year.

Mine was still pretty obvious when I got pregnant again 17 months after my last birth. And then it just darkened up again during this pregnancy. I have met women whose never went completely away. I met a woman who was wearing a bikini top once, guessed that she had kids because of her light linea negra & her youngest was 10! Ya just never know.....

This post made me realize that mine is gone after my last pregnancy. Must of happened somewhere between 7-10 months pp. I do remember it still being pretty dark at 6 months pp. I think it was relatively the same time line with #1 and #2 also.

Fascinating. I don't have one (yet?), but I had to smile when I read that some of you like your lineas nigra. I remember warning DH months ago that I might get one, expecting he'd go 'ew'--after all, many of the other things I was warning him about weren't very glamorous! But much to my surprise he beamed and said 'Awww, that's sweet. Like a tiger!'. Um, k! O.o It's nice to see he isn't the only one who appreciates the concept.

Mine's still here at 4 months pp with #2. After my first birth I *think* it faded after 6 months or so, but I'm not sure. I just kind of looked down one day and noticed it wasn't there anymore.

i'm 6.5 mos pp and was just wondering the same thing. mine's still here. i don't mind it in the slightest. the flabby belly i mind, the line not so much.

Since the line has to do with hormones, it's going to vary from woman to women. I think with some it takes a while to fade, and with others it goes away right away. For me, it took a couple of months for mine to fade, and about a year for it to be completely gone.

Mine faded about 3 months pp, but it was fairly light to begin with.

Too bad these stretch marks won't fade...
