I'm cranky. I want all the kids out of the house.

Oooo. Maybe you need peace in your nest, and you're pacing like a mamacat. [Apologize for the animal analogy, but birth is too primal for us polite humans.]

I hope this is it for you (if you'd like it to be.)
Good luck finding that peace.

Exactly! I am pacing like a momma cat...we had a dog that paced before she gave birth and I feel like I'm acting just like her. I totally agree by the animal analogy. I may go lock myself in the bathroom for awhile. I've sent dh to pick up the papasan seat I ordered from Walmart. Totally pointless errand, but I feel like it just *has* to be done right now!

Moved the toddler beds to dss's room. Trying to sell it as a fun campout. Dd is excited about it, and I think once ds is asleep and we move him he'll be fine too. Got the birth pool set up in the bedroom. Told dh he needed to clean his bathroom in case we need it (I ended up showering there after ds b/c they were draining the pool into my tub).

I'm crying wolf. I've had contractions every 3 minutes for about 3 hours now. Along with a lot of cramps, cervical pressure, and a strange vagina feeling. A couple I could barely talk through. Not so much pain, just pressure and distraction.

So either this is the beginning of it, or this kid is a major tease. This is how labor with dd#1 started. I've been having lots of cervical mucous/mucous plug stuff.

I just brought my new bed home and it's all set up waiting for it's waterproof cover to be put on. Ahhhh a new bed. I think that's what my body's been waiting for!

Good luck mommas!!!

crsta, that extreme antsy feeling is *exactly* what I had the day before & of my last 2 labors! I kept writing in my journal about how "weird" I felt, how I couldn't stop moving around but didn't want to do a single actual thing. It was bizarre, but def the beginning of labor! Keep us updated!!

kittywitty
, I hope this is the beginning of awesomeness, & not a "tease"!! : : And you too, keep us updated! :

My midwife appt today was interesting.... I'm effaced & 3cms dilated! I know that means nothing, I got checked because I've learned how to check my own cervix this pregnancy & wanted to see if I was reading it right. I was! But the weird thing is, I've never dilated before labor before! So of course now I'm obsessing over what that could MEAN.

The midwife said the baby is as low as it can get & my cervix is just about as soft as it can get & everything feels perfectly ready down there. I'm still not due for 10 days, but it's fun to fantasize about birthing soon. My body is SO ACHEY, my crotch is SO BROKEN. Everything so hurts & I'm whiny & grumpy about it.

Ever since my appt I've pain horribly crampy. Has anyone ever gone in to labor due to their cervical exam? :

Yes. Noodles with peanut butter.
Apparently he sobbed and sobbed because my DP just 'didn't get it' that the peanut butter was supposed to be the sauce of the noddles. I totally gagged when I found this out.
Heh. For the record, we eat noodles with peanut sauce on them quite often - they're called Dan Dan Noodles, they're Szechuan, and they're easy to make and tasty. Yes, really. We sometimes make them with sesame paste instead. Of course, if the peanut butter your son wanted was sweetened, then I'll have to join you in the gagging. Ew.

No no no no no - I LOVE peanut sauce. Like thai peanut sauce? Yes. Huge favorite of ours, though we usually eat it over rice in a peanut style curry.

No - this child just ate a pile of linguini with regular 'natural' chunky peanut butter on them.

You totally could.
Contact with the cervix releases those labor hormones, though usually in small quantities. If you're ready, you're ready.

Well, huh. That doesn't sound tasty at all. Weird things, young taste buds. Lucky kid, though. You let him eat it! I once watched a little girl put mustard on her applesauce and eat it with apparent relish.

I wasn't home. DP is a much bigger sport than I am. I probably would of gagged.

Apparently he kept begging for 'more putter, more putter' - as a mere coating didn't satisfy him.

Mustard on applesauce? And I thought pregnant women were the ones with the weird cravings.

Sounds like my dh. I always have to double check to make sure *I'm* the pregnant one.

The contractions are tapering off to about every 7 minutes. I checked my cervix and it's super low, not posterior really anymore, and I know I'm at least 1cm. Though with all that chunkiness, I can't be sure how much more!

*sigh*

I'm trying not to get my hopes up but I think this might be it. I've been having contractions all afternoon and they don't stop. They aren't hurting yet-just a strong pressure and they are getting stronger. I also have the this weird antsy feeling. I'm trying to get some sleep because if this is labor-I totally need to rest up!

This weekend would be perfect timing to have a baby! I really hope this is it!!

Ugh, still here at 41 wks and 3 days. I meet with MW tomorrow at 9:30 am and am considering using the Foley Catheter to get labor going.

I feel like I'm going to pop. I'm having random contractions but nothing consistent or exciting.

I have made a concious decision to let ds eat whatever he wants. Gross combinations and all.

You've seen the commercials with the kids in the kitchen mixing everything in the fridge together? (shudderr....)

I dont want them to miss out on that.

Welll unfortunately, all the cramping after my exam did NOT lead to labor. Bummer. I had bouts of the most painful ctxs I've had yet so I got excited for a second here & there.

expectantmami, oooooh exciting! I'll have to go check for another update from you maybe on today's thread. Or maybe you're too busy holding your baby now!
