increased milk and less wet diapers????

It's weird. I noticed last night that my boobs were engorged and popping out of my bra again. The past few days I was a little worried they had deflated too much. Her diapers were constantly soaked though. Then all of the sudden they filled up and I could tell Avery was a little overwhemed by my hyper lactation-BUT! Her diapers are not as wet as usual. Could it be a growth spurt? Or maybe a lowgrade fever? Did my boobs adjust naturally because she needed more? Do they usually flucuate?

Could it be that she's making fewer wet diapers, but heavier ones that she does produce? I guess you'd have to weigh the diapers to really tell, but it's an idea if you want to be sure. Or you could do the old weigh the baby, feed the baby, and weigh again to see how much she's getting trick. If you have WIC they should accommodate such a request. I know we offer all the time to reassure new or nervous moms who are having or perceive themselves to have low supply. I know if it weren't for the wets and dirties, then I would be freaking about now since I don't keep track of feedings as well as I should and sometimes it feels like she's not eating enough. Then again, any drop for Lilly from the beginning is something as she was eating about every 45 min to an hour and would only sometimes go 2-3 hours from the time she was born to about a week or so ago. Now she's gone to cluster feeds first thing in the AM and last thing at night and snacks in between. Also, normal breast tissue swelling subsides in about 7-10 days and is not a sign of decreased supply, so you might not feel as full or as large. I'm to the point too where I get really full really quick too. I kinda attributed it to nursing two with different suck patterns since it's been so long since I've nursed a baby, but I guess it's normal.
