Knee pain??

Okay, I know at this point I'm huge, but I didn't think it was this bad!

However, in the past 48 hours I've started having the most unbelievable pain in my right knee, made worse by my constant stair-climbing and moving from a sitting to a standing position while holding a heavy toddler. I have a bad family history of arthritis, so I suppose that might be it, but this is not something I've ever really suffered with before. I'm also so swollen from the vajayjay down (and have been for months now) that I really can't tell if the right knee is more swollen than the left--everything down there just looks like a big stuffed sausage and the skin is pulled super tight. Anyone else having this? And any thoughts on treatment--hot? cold? It's just so uncomfortable and I barely got any sleep last night. Help!

i've had some pretty bad knee pain. if you can, limit your activity up and down the stairs for the day, and maybe pick up your toddler after you stand, instead of adding the extra weight while in motion.

i'm guessing it also has something to do with that pregnancy hormone that makes your joints all wobbly. you can try alternating hot and cold and if it keeps you from sleeping some tylenol would help if you don't mind taking it.

good luck!

I'm in knee pain land as well. My most dreaded moments are moving from standing to sitting on the toilet (getting up isn't so bad) and standing up after sitting in a chair or the couch. I see a chiropractor once a week at this point and that helps keep it in check. For the swelling I have made sure I'm getting enough protein, drinking enough and I wear knee high socks instead of ankle socks. The socks I switched to are dress socks because the pressure seems more even, I was wearing my hubby's socks that came to about mid shin but the tops were still too tight and it was causing weird swelling. And I also stop and put my feet up more often now and my hubby rubs them most nights to get all the blood to move back up before I go to bed...when my legs felt swollen too he just rubbed them as well for a couple nights and then all my preventative stuff has helped that to not happen again. Just be sure the rubbing goes from the feet up, not the other way around...go toward the heart.

Oh and I also really curbed my stair activity. I probably only do the steps once or twice a day, I've set up a little nest in the living room as it is much closer to the only bathroom in our house.

I've also used arnica gel on my knees.

I hope you feel better soon. Knee pain is such a bother. I've had issues with it since I was a pre-teen, drives me batty sometimes.

I have osteomalacia in my knees. All I can recommend is:

Use good body posture when squatting or lifting. Better yet, don't squat or put a lot of pressure on that side.

Stretch your legs gently a few times a day.

Alternate ice and heat.

Arnica for swelling and pain.

And lots of these
