: we can do homemade

so what are you guys making to take in, I don't want to be the 'weird' mom, it's a party right! Our big guy is in K.

I did buy a box of candy canes, the weird fruit flavored ones because that's what DS said he wanted to take, candy gets sent home in bags so I was okay doing that, let other folks decide if they want their kids to have the sugar or not.

here are some of my ideas
cookies... what kind? I like oatmeal and cranberry
banana muffins?
watermelon?

I took something in last minute for my 5 yr olds party in class. I took some captains wafers crackers and red/green holiday tiny marshmallows. Her teacher actually requested those items. They already had fruit, cupcakes and cheese doodles. I'd keep it simple. The really young kids very rarely eat anything you send. They usually pick at it and cut up and talk the whole time.

You could do those little gingerbread cookies and decorate them. Those would be really cute to the kids and more likely to appeal to their senses.

I was thinking of doing mini gingerbread or sugar cookie cutouts so my son can decorate. But I'm thinking there may be way too many cookies so I'm considering chocolate dipped strawberries. or these strawberry 'mice' with almond ears.

Those mice are too cute and the kids would enjoy making them.

Decorating gingerbread cookies is a great idea, too.

okay the party's tommorrow, we have a little guy sick at the house so besides being wiped out, I don't want to make conatminate anything.... it will be a watermelon (boy are they expensive, but that's what big mister said when I saked....) and a couple bags of baby carrots ready made to dump out on a plate.

I did get some strawberries ans licorce, though we have the chips and almonds, that's what we are making for my brother when he comes over, he's family- germs won't hurt him, right!
