what is this PP bleeding -- AF? or still PP ?

Charles is 7 weeks Monday.

Starting mid way though week 5 things started getting WERID here.

I had bled less and less and less and finally -- i THOUGHT -- stopped.

I had 2 or 3 full days of nothing, then one day of bleeding then 3 or 4 days of nothing.

Now it is werid, i don't bleed day, then the next day i have a few mini-gushes where i stand up or whatever and can feel something, i go check and yep there is blood, about a quarter size on the pad or my underware, then nothing and 6 or 7 hours the same thing.

Then i have a full day of nothing, or een almost 2 days, then it happnes again.

Thursday i spotted all day -- nit really a lot, but a little bit constantly --- i assumed this was PPFF, she came at week 7 last time, why not week 6.5 this time.

But then it stopped again, only to have more mini gushes a time or two a day sice then

?????????????????????????????????????????????

I saw OB last monday -- 6 weeks to the day -- and womb is fine, back to normal size, back to normal place, no irration, no sweeling.

I TOLD him the PP Bleeding had stiopped -- i THOUGHT it had.

now i am so confused.

AF, PP bleeding -- what??????????????

and more importnat WHEN WILL IT STOP

I don't want to call OB on Monday -- frankly 1. i don't know what to SAY and 2. I don't want to look stupid and 3. I don't guess there is anything to do but wait it out and deal

Dont worry about looking stupid - It had stopped, but then restarted.

I am still having gushing issues, very similar to how you describe it except I'm usually coming close to filling a pad.

Did he do a pap? I'm wondering if he didnt disturb something while in there.

he did do an internal to check womb and stiches.

SO how long before i worry, and is the AF or what. ..... I mean how can you tell? last time, after T, I got AFPP at week 7 but it was a normal AF, started, was full AF ran for 5 or 6 days and was done .... like "nomal" not stopping and starting and sopping and starting .....

ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

oh and I am getting an IUD in Feb which can cause odd bleeding, then eventally a stop in and or many missed cycels -- so get ready all of you for me to obsess about THAT too ............

What made you decide on the iud in feb, if I may ask? I'm having big trouble making that decision. MW said getting it put in at 6 weeks pp would be easiest since things are still loose down there.

Aimee, sounds like pp stuff still to me. I hope it stops soon. Tara, IUD's can fall out, if stuff is still "loose", doesn't seem like the best time to get it put in.

We decided on the IUD for several reasons,

We decided to do it in Feb -- cuz that is my annual data, so i will have another appt -- and we didn't plan it for the 6 week appt (we had not decided) so the time was not set aside and the pre-approval for insurnace not done.

---- are you asking why the IUD at all or why the timing ----

OB said he'd be willing to do it at 6 to 8 weeks, but was happier to wait till Feb.

Yestreday (Sunday) and so far today (Monday) no blood ...... so NOW if i bleed again do I asusme it is PPAF ...............where is the line between PP SPotting and AF .................

Aimee, the same thing happened to me. I thought it was PPAF but after talking to my MW about it she thinks it was a small piece of membrane or something that my body needed to expel, so it was still lochia. Maybe this is TMI, but were there any stringy pieces at all? That could be a bit of membrane left over. I had cramps too, and my MW said you will probably have cramps if the body is trying to get rid of something like that.

Oddly, my PP bleeding stopped at 2-3 weeks with DD and then at 6 weeks PP it was back for a couple days (like a light AF). Then gone again until 12 months PP (due to nursing).

My OB said it would have been AF (since bleeding had been gone for so long) but it was unlikely and was more likely lochia. But she did say that if I wanted to avoid another quick pregnancy then I had to at least think about birth control.

I have never trusted the "I am BF ..." thing maaaaaybe cuz i did get PPAF back at 7 week PP last time ......

Pluse -- this is odd -- but if we are DTD without BC ... as in let go and let God .... I'd sepnd the family fortuan on POAS preggo tests since i would never know if i was SUPPOSED to have AF or not ...... yk?
