I had seen this in a store but hadn't really looked it over because, for pete's sake, does the world really need another craft magazine?
Then I looked at the website and wondered if the world (and my bookcases) really need more Waldorfy-type craft how-tos (I have what one might consider an excessive amount of craft books, particularly the Waldorfy type).
But after seeing this thread I looked at it again in Michael's, and, oh, I'm in love.

It reminds me a lot of Mothering -- the paper type, the layouts, the photography, some of the same advertisers.
Let's face it, a lot of the Waldorfy craft books are sort of vague and leave much to the reader's imagination. This has color photography. It has specific directions, and tells the exact brand of yarn used or beeswax used or what-have-you. It also gives ideas for using your own imagination. You can have a totally stuffed-up head (that would be me today) and not feel overwhelmed by trying to figure out how the heck they did this stuff.
My dds, ages 12 and 8, also adored it. The 8yo thought it seemed like a girly sort of magazine, btw, although the 12yo could see that boys would like some of the projects. They oohed and aahed over the felt hearts, the felt holly, the felt angel, the valentine doll, the beeswax snail, and are pretty sure I need the earrings (all that in a 5 minute look at the magazine!). For the record, these are kids who then got out the Glitz gun and applied little plastic sparkles to everything in the house -- these are not crunchy kids who use only natural materials in their art project, they are quite eclectic in their crafting.
As for me, those pillowcases are happening in our house! What a cool idea! I want to run to the fabric store
now and start sewing them! (They're seasonal pillowcases for kids' bed pillows.)
